5 years ago@bigran512 Thanks for getting back. Do you use an external hard drive?

I do have a Seagate 2TB external game drive connected to my Xbox Series X. Is that the problem?

@bigran512 Most likely.
This is what I recommend doing:
1. Check the external drive for any Madden NFL files and delete them.
2. Detach the drive and then check your internal drive to see if there are any Madden files. Delete all of them.
3. Power cycle the console.
4. Re-install Madden NFL 21 to the internal without the external attached.
5. Once installed, check your Xbox/Game settings to verify all post-game updates will be installed to the internal drive.
This is one issue I see with external drives. Some drives might not be fully compatible or what happens is that files will be located on both external and internal, causing performance issues.
I've seen some games simply not work the way they should on an external drive or with one attached.- 5 years ago
I will try that and let you know if it works. Thank you for for responding and helping me with my issue.

I tried what was suggested, and I'm still having issues with Madden 21 freezing. The only thing I can think of next is to uninstall the game and go a complete factory reset. This highly frustrating.

@bigran512 I'd hate to see you do that just for Madden NFL 21, but if you don't mind that can help us determine if that is a potential workaround fix for others. Sorry to hear the steps above didn't fix it. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to factory reset your console when performance issues are being experienced though. I had to do it to my console a couple times over the course of 5 years.
