How can madden be improved
To Jake,
I have been playing madden for a very long time and continue to buy it and play the ultimate team yearly, but it just seems that the mode itself is getting bland and what I want to do is help create the best possible Madden Ultimate Team for everyone involved. That being said, here is a wishlist for the mode next year that will benefit everyone.
-Making the H2H experience better as a whole. This year on Madden the game has been completely captivated and taken by storm through the all new x-factor and superstar ability system. While this new addition was initially fun, it has very much harmed H2H for many people. This isnt a direct effect from it, but more of a coinciding part of matching lower overall teams up against the higher overall teams. Although in past Maddens, I would say this has never been an issue because regardless of team, a lesser overall could win based on a better scheme and playcalling. The only reason this is a presentable issue now is because with the inclusion of X-factors and superstar abilities, the people who have a lower overall team and no superstar abilities due to this, are unable to be any sort of competition to the higher overall, stronger teams just because of these newfound abilities. The first solution that comes to mind and very well could be the easiest for your team, is to make matching from overalls. Example, I currently have a 87 overall All Philadelphia Eagles Theme Team, and if I searched for a H2H seasons game I would face another 87 overall, with as many abilities as I have, this way it ensures more balance and makes it easier to keep players in tune with the game. I do want this to be apart of weekend league as well, because if not then some of the Free-to-Play players will not be able to be as "grindy" as theyd like and ultimately pushing them away from the game and you know that is not what we would want to happen. Also, it would be a lot better if your team could implement a way to prevent players from using the same plays over and over, being a part of the player base, I know a lot of people that have had this complaint over the game and it has never reached a higher level, but I think we need to have a system implemented where it is harder to use the same plays and succeed consistently because in a real life scenario, if a team ran the same play every down, it just wouldnt work, plain and simple.
-BETTER AND MORE SOLO CHALLENGES. Sorry for the caps, but this is probably one of the stronger points for many players, while some do not enjoy these at all, many players play these solos to get better teams and earn more coins. I am not going to say take away the star system, but I do think the game could use without it. Many players including myself can attest to enjoying the solos of the past, with the longer sequences, being released more often, and having much better rewards. The best one I can think of is Madden 16 journey V, this journey was 160 solos, with many coins and packs to be earned with a 99 Clinton Portis waiting at the end. I am not saying make the rewards a 99 overall at the end, because I am aware this was the later stage of the game, but I think it would be more beneficial for the game to have packs at certain challenges, and coin rewards being increased as challenges get harder. It is also important we have more solos, one of the things I think of is NBA Live 19, although this game gets overshadowed by NBA 2k19, if players played that game's ultimate team as religious as they played 2k's myTeam, there would be a lot more players playing NBA Live over 2k and that is just a fact. Live had well over 5,000 challenges at the end of the year and it never took any of these out. My suggestion through this example is to pass the idea of "Its better to have more to do, than having nothing to do." I am not going to say put 5,000 solos in because that is not easy to do, but it would be ideal to have way more challenges to play, the theme builders this year was a great idea because it just gave more to do. I do hope this returns, but slightly revised, and this is called "Theme Seasons" and within this solo challenge sequence you play against every NFL team, making it 32 solos for every team, the only requirements are as it goes along, you need more players from the team you are doing. My preference would be something along the lines of this:
(Chicago Bears Sequence)
AFC South - Games 1-4 - Requires 5 Bears Players (Rookie Difficulty)
AFC West - Games 5-8 - Requires 5 Bears Players (Rookie Difficulty)
AFC East - Games 9-12 - Requires 10 Bears Players (Pro Difficulty)
AFC North - Games 13-16 - Requires 10 Bears Players (Pro Difficulty)
NFC South - Games 17-20 - Requires 15 Bears Players (All-Pro Difficulty)
NFC West - Games 21-24 - Requires 15 Bears Players (All-Pro Difficulty)
NFC East - Games 25-28 - Requires 20 Bears Players (All-Madden Difficulty)
NFC North - Games 29-31 - Requires 20 Bears Players (All-Madden Difficulty)
Chicago Bears Boss - Game 32 - Requires 25 Bears Players (All-Madden Difficulty, Full Game)
Rewards for one of these sequences could be something along the lines 35,000 coins and a 87-88 overall player called a Theme Team Captain for each team that can be upgraded as these 32 game sequences get re-released every time the season changes and the player gets a +2 overall boost so that the gritty players can get competitive teams and have fun online.
-More Promotions. This is probably the biggest reach but I think it would be the most beneficial. In this idea, we could get weekly Rising Stars like past years to go along with Heavyweights, Veterans, and Flashbacks. There could also be room for more promos, such as final edition cards from past maddens. It is another part of more solos as well as it gives players more to play for and can be more beneficial to getting cards from each promo and the more promos will still allow you guys to make good money as there will still be players looking to buy packs and try to achieve the best possible teams, but instead of giving players the narrative pay to win for those who dont have the money to do this, it changes to pay to play, so it is much more of an optional thing and less forced upon if you want to be competitive in the the top online modes.
