How do I remove a player I accidently added to a set? MUT

I accidentally added a 97 OVR David Johnson to a set and want him back.   As a side note, what I was TRYING to do is use my upgrade tokens that I sometimes get from leveling up because I wasn't sure...

    Hey @caketastydelish2. 

    Apologies for the late reply on this. 

    Once a player has been added to a set the item would be permanently consumed. I'm afraid we don't have a way to recover them.

    Okay but what is u didn't actually add him and he's a wildcard. Can u remove him then
