For couch co-op on the same console you only need to turn on each controller and then move the controller icon to the away or home team.
For online H2H where each player has their own console, you'll have to visit online exhibition and send a game invite while your friend is at the main menu. Let me know if you need any additional help.

Hey, so I got a question. I was playing online with a random. It was a good game and I wanted to play another but I don't know how to get to his profile to send him a friend request or even a game invite. How would you be able to send people friend request or game invites from madden 21 ps4? Thanks in advance.
