Wondering if someone might be able to offer any kind of help, and also wanting to rant a little about EA customer service. I bought Madden 21 for PS5, (shouldve bought 2k) but I havnt had any issue playing Madden in the past, as a matter of fact I played 20 not too long ago and connected just fine. But now on 21, im getting a "Please reset password" message whenever I try to play so my game is being held hostage. I have spoken with EA several times and they say its because my account is linked with a different email, but when they send me a confirmation email with a code, it comes to my correct email, I provide the code, and they tell me my PSN is linked with a different email. That makes 0 sense, because I had just provided them with a verification code. It also makes zero sense that ive had no trouble connecting in the past to play madden, but its just all of the sudden. The customer service agents are rude, offer zero help, will nit let you speak with a supervisor, will not listen to you, and constantly talks over you with annoyed tone in their voice.... I am furious to have paid $70 for a game that I cannot even play, and that EA approaches it with a "tough luck" or "sucks to be you" attitude. Then when I ask for a refund, or get a little agitated because of them being rude, and giving me no help, and basically calling me a liar, they hang up on me. And when I say agitated im not talking yelling, or cursing, im talking just wanting to be able to play my $70 game and getting agitated that they will not help me. I know this is falling on def ears with them, and they will probably delete this, but just wanted to rant a little, and see of there are any at all possible fixes for this that the internet knows about.

  • Hey, @Kylo-Red88

First, I'm sorry to hear about the unfortunate time you're having trying to play the game and get this fixed through our Support team. I imagine it's been increasingly frustrating, I know dealing with account stuff with other companies is never super fun. We are limited to what we can do on the forums for account security reasons, so I hope I'm able to clear up any confusion and help point you in the right direction to getting you into the digital gridiron.

Invalid accounts can usually be fixed by a password reset. A common thing that happens to Madden players though is that they think they're resetting the password on the correct EA account that has their Gamertag/PSN ID attached but it's a 2nd EA account they accidentally created by accident due to being a long time Madden fan and creating their account a LONG time ago (hard to remember what email we used going way back in time).

So in all, if you're not able to access your account you'll have to go through our account recovery process by visiting our Help site by going to this link: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/account/im-locked-out-of-my-ea-account/

There is a way to verify whether you're on the correct account that has your PSN ID attached to it. Visit profile.EA.com and at the bottom under Connected Accounts you SHOULD see your PSN ID or Xbox Gamertag there. If not, that means it is on another account that you linked it up with a while back.

We take account security very seriously. We must be able to verify the true owner of the account is attempting to regain access. Without enough clear information we may reserve the right to deny the request to protect the owner's account. We are not aiming to make this highly difficult and we understand that some players might not ever gain access due to insufficient information. Our Support team is on standby to help you when you're ready to get in touch again with us.

  • @Kylo-Red88 ☹️ that really sounds frustrating. unfortunately, I've read similar reports about how players had experienced EA customer service quite often (incl. my brother too, for instance).

I'm not sure whether you are already aware of this info thread and whether you have tried these steps alreay (https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/How-to-Fix-Invalid-Account/m-p/9461464#M1741), so I would like to refer you to it. I hope you will find the answers you need there.

    hope that helps. good luck!

Ive done that several yimes and still the same thing. It has to be either a glitch, or aomethinf with EA, or maybe I was possibly hacked? Either way EA has given me no help. They are the worst, and now I wont be able to play the new NCAA game when it comes out, or any new battlefield games. This sucks EA, this is a new low for even you.
