Madden 16 - NFL rule issue?
FACTS:
I was playing on offense and started a run play.
At the begging of the play, a flag is thrown.
Moments after, I fumbled and then the ball was recovered by the defense.
After the end of the play, judge approaches and says the penalty was a Holding by the defense.
The box that pops up showing the result of accepting or declining the penalty didn't gave me option to choose between accept or decline (the penalty).
HERE'S THE PROBLEM:
After the result of the play was announced, my defense came to the field and the other team had the possession. That would've made sense if there wasn't a foul by the defense in the play. What happened after all?
THOUGHTS:
It would make more sense if the offense had incurred in a hold penalty. Not the defense. Even more in a run play.
I assume that once the game didn't gave me the option to choose between accepting or declining the penalty, then the penalty was on me. And the defense had to decide. And they probably declined the penalty because they recovered the fumble.
So, my theory is that when the judge called a holding by the defense, he meant by me. The judge called me defense because I had lost the possession at that moment.
In this case, it would make sense. But it would be necessary to fix the way the judge calls a penalty after a fumble, when the possession inverses.
If that's not the case, then we have a ruling issue that needs to be fixed.
