I am having the same exact issue. I contacted EA about it and they basically said that apparently the game allowed me to start an online franchise even though I don't have a playstation plus account and I was pretty positive that I clicked to play an offline franchise. According to the guy that I talked to that means that my franchise is basically gone. I proceeded to tell the guy that they have an issue that seems to be happening more frequently and he told me that I was the only one that he knew of to which I forwarded him this forum. So yeah it hasn't been resolved and apparently wont be.
This whole issue is so * stupid. You'd think EA would do something about it to fix the game but apparently not. I was having fun and then everytime I turn it on, you need a PSP account. No thank you. I've played offline the whole 9 weeks before and I don't understand why it's different. Dare I say I know why people prefer xbox to the PS

There were some issues last week that have since been resolved.
