Madden 19 (PC) Controller issue (XBox360-Controller)

Can't choose my XBox360-Controller as the default actice controller ingame.

After solving the "Welcome Back" Loading screen (no action after pressing Button A) for myself by pluggin the controller off and proceed with mouse&keyboard, i restart the game after i plugged the controller on again. but now i am stucked on the active control option menu.

Pressing Button A takes no result, pressing Button B wil restart the option menu. Pressing other Buttons have no effects.

So atm i can't play Madden19 with my controller...

in other games, the XBox360-Controller works fine.

    Same here. It says to hit B to go back but it just selects the menu highlighted instead and changes options like I am holding left/right. The whole purpose I bought it was to play with a controller so I didn't have to relearn the keyboard controls.

    I have heard to try to link it to steam instead and load in "big picture mode" but I have yet to try it. Shouldn't have to do this though.

    adding Origin/Madden19 to the steam library and open it in big picture mode doesn't solve the problem. controller is still not working correctly...

    i have exactly the same problem with my xbox 360 controller for windows. every other game works just dandy, but madden doesnt let me exit this friggin active controller screen... cant use mouse and keyboard as well as soon as that screen pops up...

    game is unplayable for me right now because of this and the fullscreen-hdr-problem. paid 60 bucks for this.... 😞

    so i have a kind of work around for this that I was able to make work. For the verifying your EA account picking your favorite team and going through the first game thing. you have to use keyboard and mouse. i tried atleast 20 times to get the controller to work and it wouldnt do it. Ive seen alot of people saying oh just unplug your keyboard and mouse and it works. it does not. so the way i was able to get it to work was after i made it through all the start up junk i force close the game. Then i plugged my xbox one controller back in and launched the game. it does pop up that annoying. Choose active controller about a 1000 times. The trick is to click it fast enough that you can select something on the menu. like Franchise longshot. LITERALLY ANYTHING. if you can select it and it will get you off that main screen it goes away. After i got it to go away once it never came back until i relaunched the game and had to do the steps again. i was able to play longshot for over 3 hours with the controller no issues. and this morning i was able to get into the Franchise mode and online head to head with no issues. Its a huge PITA but once you get it to go away youre golden. I really really hope EA puts in a patch for this but until then ill keep doing this trick. Good luck

    but no! i refuse to play a game i paid good money for like this. this is on ea to fix and not on us players to play a game without any kind of control over a simple thing like a menuscreen.

    This happened with old FIFA too. I just don't plug in the controller until after you started the game. For some reason this works.
