Madden 20 can't continue franchise without PlayStation plus

How do I continue playing Madden 20 PS4 without PlayStation Plus? This is absolutely ridiculous. Paid $50 and can't play the game. What's the fix?

    Offline Franchises can be played offline without PlayStation Plus. When PlayStation online services are being used (online game modes like connected franchise), a PlayStation Plus membership is required.

I can’t play FOTF classic mode without having a notification pop up about having to have ps plus, and I don’t want to get ps plus. Is there anyway I can get help on this?

@NotMike27 If it's a connected franchise you will need PS+ because it requires online services.

    I just want to know why it’s connected? What is connected that makes it online

      @NotMike27 Connected Franchise games are saved to the online servers which can allow you to play your Franchise on the go from multiple consoles. In the event you uninstall the game or factory reset your console, the save files are stored to the cloud.

      Connected Franchise mode also allows you to play with multiple human users. If you don't plan to play on the go a lot and by yourself, going to an offline franchise isn't a bad option to consider.
