Madden 20 can't continue franchise without PlayStation plus

How do I continue playing Madden 20 PS4 without PlayStation Plus? This is absolutely ridiculous. Paid $50 and can't play the game. What's the fix?

    Offline Franchises can be played offline without PlayStation Plus. When PlayStation online services are being used (online game modes like connected franchise), a PlayStation Plus membership is required.

So turn off wifi so it no longer online that's the only way to play franchise mode.pleae explain.pplayed 4 games.had no ideal
