Madden 20 can't continue franchise without PlayStation plus

How do I continue playing Madden 20 PS4 without PlayStation Plus? This is absolutely ridiculous. Paid $50 and can't play the game. What's the fix?

Offline Franchises can be played offline without PlayStation Plus. When PlayStation online services are being used (online game modes like connected franchise), a PlayStation Plus membership is required.

@EA_Blueberry Thanks. I did figure out the offline deal. Just sucks I had to start my franchise over offline now. I started one with the trial period. Oh well. Seems like the Ultimate team mode requires Plus membership as well. Really hate Playstation has done this.
