I actually fixed it myself a few days ago. The fix was pretty basic and the cause is amateur hour development, a fundamental failure to understand the platform you're publishing on. The game lacks some basic Windows 10 folder access permissions. Running as administrator brute forces these into correct operation. But that's fundamentally a developer issue, not an end user issue, which explains why so many people encounter this. Windows 10 is not without it's own set of problems, but it's not like they're giving the software away for free. I have a hard time recommending that as a workaround because some people don't have the access or the knowledge to know how and it really is a development issue that should be patched, but if Eclectic Ants continues to pass the buck then I suppose this is something you could propose to get the game working for people. But it's a say state of affairs all around.
