madden 21 free upgrade

Hi all 

I’m currently trying to upgrade my madden 21 from a digital version on ps4 to a digital version on ps5. I know it is supposed to be really easy because I was able to do it easily when I upgraded my fifa but when I try and update my madden it asks me for a disk copy even though I didn’t have the disk copy on ps4. I also only have the no disk ps5 as well so it wouldn’t even be possible if I did have a disk. 
I contacted EA help about this and their response is that it shouldn’t be doing this but it still is. If anyone else has had this issue and managed to solve it that would be great to know.

Still haven’t heard back from EA regarding upgrade my madden disc version to the digital version of the ps5 

I bought a physical copy of Madden 21: Deluxe Edition. I have ejected the disc and reinserted it multiple times, I’ve closed out the game, restarted my Xbox and everything I can think of. 

nothing has prompted for the new update. Is there something I’m not doing or is this an ongoing issue? Please help. 

note: I’ve had the game since it launched and it’s been up to date on the updates.

This issue should now be resolved for Playstation users. We are continuing to look into other related situations.

Yeah, mine is Xbox. Hopefully it’s resolved soon.

This should now be fixed. We've seen some reports from players claiming they still haven't been able to upgrade but after further review we are not able to determine they actually own the full game of Madden NFL 21.
