For matchmaking, team overalls aren't considered a factor. Madden NFL uses ELO matchmaking which is all skill-based. You're being matched up with players of equal skill level. In the event they have a higher OVR team, it could make those matchups slightly more in their favor. In the game of football though, anything can happen on Sunday.
