Madden 21 Stadia Franchise Mode Crashes Post Game

    So considering I haven't had any sort of response to my inquiry, I did a number of my own tests to try to figure this conundrum out. For those who are still facing issues with Madden 21 crashing on Stadia postgame, I hope this helps.

    At first I thought it was perhaps something to do with the Chromecast Ultra, the device used to play Stadia on the TV, as multiple users reported no issues when playing through a browser. In the last minute of every game I played, I tried switching screens from the Chromecast to my computer, and although this worked for a time, it did eventually continue to crash, telling me a glitch has occurred and kicking me out of the game, with all progress lost. Back to square one.

    As mentioned in my first couple posts, EA and other users reported this being a problem with 4K and, especially, HDR, to which they supposedly released a patch to fix. I do not play in HDR, and playing in 1080p mode didn't do the trick either. I was beginning to get frustrated. This is a completely random issue, happening only after some games and not others.

    Then I decided to see if connecting to EA servers was the the culprit. I remember playing another iteration of Madden a year or two ago on Xbox One where I had to stay disconnected to ensure games completed properly in Franchise mode. Sure enough, unlinking my Stadia and EA accounts and staying disconnected from the servers proved to be the solution, as I haven't had a game crash since. Although an unconventional method, I don't play online, so it's been a relief to say the least.

    Not condoning this for all players, but if you are like me and only play offline, this may be a lifesaver to you. Let's hope Madden 22 on Stadia is a tad more stable.

    Still waiting for the League History tab in Franchise to be functional tho...

Ngl, I'm a little disappointed more light isn't being shed on this. Between a new feature that doesn't even function in Franchise (League History), and the gambling required after playing a game, wondering if progress will be saved or if the last hour and a bit of your life was simply a waste, I feel extremely let down. I haven't played Madden on Stadia since I posted this, and unfortunately until I get some sort of official feedback, I'm afraid my days of tossing Football in the cloud may be numbered.

Are we going to see any support on Stadia moving forward? These seem like relatively simple backend fixes (maybe servers not connecting properly post game?).

Please let me know when I can get back on the field so my Bills can finally win a Superbowl lol
