Madden 22 freezing when selecting upgrade players

Product: Madden NFL 22
Platform:Xbox Series S
Which console generation do you have? Microsoft Xbox Series S
What is your gamertag/PSN ID? steelie on wii
Date/time issue occurred 12-3-21
What type of issue do you have? Crash/Freeze
Which mode has this happened in? Franchise Mode
Which part of the mode? Cloud
What is your Franchise League Name? Pack Fran
Summarize your bug Every time that I select “upgrade players” it shows the players to be upgraded but won’t let me select them, move which players i want to select, or back out. Have to restart the game and happens every time.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Make a franchise get players upgrade points and then try to upgrade them.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game freezes, but the very top bar that moves and says “franchise” keeps moving
What do you expect to see? I expect for it to work and let me upgrade them.

It just freezes when I select upgrade players that is about it.

Well it's January 4th and you or no other commentators have even responded in the forums about this 3 plus month issue plauging us consumers and players.     FWIW I was able to skip the week and it seems to have bypassed the issue, killed my posters dev trait tho

    I was having the same issue. I finally found a way it didn’t delete or freeze. I was in week 9 and hit simulated to offseason. In week 12 I cancelled the sim and released that particular player from my roster (resigned him after from free agency). I played week 13 and it loaded week 14 and did not freeze on the upgrade players page. 

    The player also did get his superstar X factor regardless

    Having the same problem. @EA can you guys fix this or make a comment? This makes the game unplayable, it’s ridiculous to say the least. This is the main reason for me to buy madden is because of franchise. Make us pay full prices for these games and they aren’t even enjoyable with all the bugs and glitches. You guys realize you make billions of dollars and are a company charging customers full prices for games that aren’t even fully ready to come  out. Madden over the last few years, battlefield, fifa, nba live. The list goes on. Put out full products or give people refunds.

    @bigballerwayne Exact same problem on PS5 digital edition. So over this crap. I even only play franchise offline so i dont have to put up with the online glitches but they still found a way to stuff that up.

    I only play offline franchise as well and this bug makes me feel like I’ve been robbed. It completely breaks the game and from what I’ve seen, it’s been an issue since October. I would think a game breaker would have some sort of resolution by now

    I play an online franchise by myself. I'm in 2025, and it just happened to me for the first time. Same pattern as everyone else. Dev upgrade loop/can't do anything without it freezing. I play this game most of my time, can't afford to forfeit all my progress like a couple YouTube videos have suggested. Yall need to fix this.

    Unfortunately, there isn't a fix to date.  The only way to get around this annoying issue and continue your season's progress Unfortunately is to simulate your game.  You of course lose the superstar X label for your player and most likely get a L to boot.... But its the only way to continue to play this broken * game.  The mods havent responded nor added anything to help either.  Way to go EA.  Appreciate the help!!  Broken * help for a broken * game!!!

    @Tim_Jasko Still happening in madden 23 on PS4. It’s annoying. I have to restart the game every two games I play.

    When the upgrade players menu pops up, I can’t do anything, there is no controller input that works except the PS menu
