Tried to get help from EA and of course got no new information or suggestions, just was sent to this link which I had already been to

  @EA_Barry so ur answer for ur problem at EA tht effects so many ppl from playing this game at all is to delete all our friends. Wtf

  @EA_Barry I had nowhere near 100 friends, but I went and deleted all of them and I still can't even get to the menu. What's next?

    @DoctorLaserbeam EA Barry will just disappear and not respond back bc they choose to not acknowledge the problem man. Such a shame
