Madden 22 PS5/XB1 franchise freezing and not saving when Developing Player

I guess a quick fix isn’t bad for now, but it’s still not fully fixed and the issue needs to be sorted and corrected on EA’s end. The game simply just doesn’t work unless you backdoor edit players to get it to work and that’s not something I should have to do.

I downgraded him to “star” from “superstar” and now nothing freezes like it did before.

So this is the fix….thank you!!!!!

Are you able to upgrade the player back up to Superstar afterwards without it freezing though?

I typically play online franchise, but the issue effects both on my console.

• Are you using a custom roster and draft class?

I use a custom draft class, but when I haven’t used a custom draft class, it does the same thing.

• What year are you into the Franchise? What week is this happening?

The very start of Franchise regular season. Especially with the online franchises I use it triggers it’s first step in any of the Madden roster updates that release weekly. I get a scenario for dev trait upgrades (typically with the Dallas Cowboys with TE Dalton Schultz from normal development to star development.) This progresses by week until the game breaking X-Factor upgrade 3 weeks into the franchise mode.

• What position & player name are you experiencing this with

Typically it’s offensive skill positions (RB, WR, TE). The main one I would know about is Dallas Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz being the one to get the opportunity.

• Did you use fantasy draft for your franchise?

Nope.

• What dev trait are you upgrading?

It starts from normal to star. That works. The next week it’s star to superstar. That works. It’s the 3rd week, superstar to X-factor the issue triggers in.

• Have you tried re-installing the game since this started happening?

No. I have not deleted Madden from my console. I have tried to force updates and have not been offered an update that wasn’t done automatically and the issue is still ongoing for the last month.

• Do you have more than one save file for your franchise? 

I had multiple franchise save files, all of which hit the glitch and have to be deleted because there’s no update to fixing the issue and it won’t let me progress the game. So I start a new franchise and delete the old one. This even corrupted an

old franchise that was started pre-scouting update.

Having the exact same issue as everyone else. Only thing I see that everyone else has kind of different from me is whenever I launch the Franchise, it automatically goes into the animation where the Star receiver (a computer-generated rookie TE in this scenario) talks to the QB before the game where he has an opportunity to go from Superstar to Superstar X-Factor and the QB is also invisible.

My franchise is freezing after my game trying to get back to the interface. No special dev trait game just a preseason game 

Playstation 5 disc version PSN: chaclatcheese

Offline Franchise 

Did not use a draft class when I tried to, it failed to load and ransoms popped up

I am in year 2 Week 2 preseason I am the browns playing the giants 

No issues with a player nor a position

no fantasy draft

no dev trait upgrade

i have not tried reinstalling the game, should I?

I only have 1 save file

I tried attaching a file but it will not let me take a video or a picture. It’s the loading screen it gets stuck on. The animations are there it just won’t go to the next screen. Also it starts getting buggy near the end of the game. If I don’t press anything the game will not automatically advance. I have to press x to get to the playbook screen, usually after a brief time it would automatically take you there. Ex. I scored a touchdown with Kareem Hunt, I chose the crowd celebration, he jumped up there and the animation lasted for about a minute and a half, usually it was a 15-20 second thing tops. It’s almost like the game started slowing down. I’ve tried skipping the post game, letting the post game go through without touching anything. Still the same result. Last game after it ended it didn’t show any animations of the angry coach it just showed the ball laying on the field, no post game highlights just the ball laying on the field until it eventually hit the box score, and then the loading screen of death. 

The forcing advance and editing the players dev trait allowed me to continue my franchise. Thanks everyone! Separate issue in the same franchise...I just played an entire game and when I left the game the game stats and scores didn’t register. It just said I played the game. Frustration levels are through the roof. 

@EA_Blueberry are there any updates to this issue coming? Or are we still waiting, over a month now, for this issue to be resolved?

This is STILL happening and it's April!!! @EASPORTS GET IT TOGETHER ALREADY...
