Do you both have an alternative network option to connect to, such as a hotspot or VPN to determine if this is network related?

Do you have Origin and Madden set as exceptions for your anti-virus?

Glad it worked out. That means there was some type of software conflicting with the download. A clean boot launches the PC with Windows essential software only, so if it happens again you might want to load up 1 program at a time to see what could be causing it.
