Do you have a lot of saved clips (both local and cloud)? Deleting those can help alleviate the stress on the console. A while back I cleared out all the clips from the cloud and local storage then noticed a significant boost in speed and performance of the console.

By the way did your game stop crashing when you plugged into the wall? I just did that now.
