I think you are 100% correct about the pathetic approach the M26 people seem to take - only selling upgrade packs matters.
I also think that trying to get EA to invest more into the base game is NEVER going to amount to anything. The only way to influence EA is to either quit buying the crappy product, or lobby the NFL and the NFLPA to open the playing field to other game companies. Put EA's gravy train in doubt and watch how fast they move.
NO MORE EXCLUSIVE CONTRACT FOR EA IS THE ONLY WAY.
