Madden fantasy draft

Can anyone answer why madden got rid of the old franchise mode in the early 2000’s. The NHL game has kept it the same forever but madden had  to go screw it up. Are they ever gonna go back to the old style ??? And does anyone know how to do a 2 player fantasy draft on madden???
