Protect the ball and switch ball hands away from the closest defender. Don't try all kinda crazy spin moves at the wrong time when about to be gang tackled or in front of a heavy hitter. Just because the player has a good carry rating does not mean you don't have to protect the ball. There's a lot of deep control in this game and a lot of times when I was irritated learning because I was really good at the ps2 madden, I later learned that I was missing something about the controls. I still kinds like the ps2 engine better in some ways but the more I learn the new one the more impressed I am with the subtle details. Its a pretty amazing feat to have this looking like an actual football game. Before you whine maybe learn the controls and the game of football. Or set it to a lower difficulty level where you can do so without getting frustrated. I had to dial it back because I was not all madden level like I was on ps2. There's a lot to this game it takes time to learn
If you don't switch the ball away from the side that defender is about to hit you from you should be protecting the ball not trying to do some spin move or not protect the ball. The first thing you do when you have the ball is protect it. Dont switch ball hands until you are into the secondary and not in range of any defenders. When you are in open space though I check where the nearest persuit is wnd immediately put the ball in the arm away from the direction the defense is coming from. Way less fumbles. Another thing you can do is tend to head toward a sideline and switch the ball toward the sidelines that way even if you fumble somehow there's a decent chance it bounces out of bounds
My QB is the only one that fumbles an he will fumble diving or even with me using the cover control it don’t make a difference. Mobile QB carry rating should mean something there shouldn’t be a double standard by position for the game.
- @90FadeDoc QB's fumble at a much higher rate than any other position in Madden, but only beyond the line of scrimmage. It's supposed to be to prevent people from running with the QB. You can slide to avoid the hits by sliding... Tap Square on PS4 or X on Xbox once you get past the line of scrimmage.
I started doing this before every tackle and I still have the problem. I even turned fumbling down to 1 in the sliders for player and computer. Still multiple fumbles per game on both sides. It's a broken mechanic.
