@wjh91gf89yuq All you have to do is go into the game and load up the grey screen then push the home button and go to settings and go to network and where it says connect to internet turn it off and go back to the game
Are you Game Sharing?
For anyone experiencing this, please provide me your details below:
- PSN ID
- Are you Game Sharing? (Y/N)
- Are you still unable to play the game after signing into Help.EA.com using your PSN credentials? (There is an option to sign in with your PlayStation or Xbox credentials)
- Do you have blocked scene notifications turned off under your PSN ID settings? (Please disable and confirm you did it)
- Are you playing on a sub account from the main PSN account on your console? (Y/N)
One of you mentioned you don't have an EA account which might be why it's hanging up. By signing into Help.EA.com using your PSN credentials it will force account creation since you are syncing up your PSN account to the EA servers.

We do not want you to disable your internet or back out of the game to disable Network Settings to play this game every time. That is not ideal. These workaround solutions are helpful and it's always encouraged to share them for anyone that is itching to get into the game right away, but we're going to need to find a common denominator here what's causing this to all happen to you.
@packman6310
Please reply back with the details I'm requesting.
Please reply back with this request info if you are having trouble with this.
We're here to help! If the workaround steps didn't fully resolve it for you in this thread, please reply back with the information I've been requesting to pass along to the Madden team for investigation.
Thanks.
Going to repost this again for visibility as we are having trouble gathering information from players that can be useful for the Madden team.
So far we have found a couple workarounds within this thread that have helped out players:
First workaround:
- Download the EA Play app
- Delete Madden NFL 21
- Re-download it
Second workaround:
"Yo I had this issue for the last two weeks as well but managed to fix it now. You need to connect your ps4 to a different network (I used my mobile phone as a hotspot). Then start the game once and you should get a license agreement or something like that at the spot where the game used to freeze. Once you accepted that you can go back to your usual network and the game should work fine."
The team is still investigating this, however if these steps do not work for you and/or want to provide information to help the Madden team please see my response above on requested details.
Thank you.
