EA Staff (Retired)There are definitely a couple of things to try before trying to pull off your console power cord. First of all follow this troubleshooting guide specifically for Xbox One: http://support.xbox.com/en-IE/xbox-one/networking/network-connection-error-solution
Few tips that may solve the issue quicker - power-cycle your network devices first i.e. router or modem. Unplug your network cable from the console or disable WiFi on your console to reset the connection. You can access WiFi settings through Network Settings.
I appreciate the reply. Is there a reason you think I would need to power cycle my modem and interrupt everyone else in my house when power cycling the XB1 brings me to immediate (though unsustainable) smooth internet use and none of the other cps, tablets, or game systems are experiencing any connectivity issues?
This last time, I played the Raiders in Solo Gauntlet Challenge #3, won the game and even saw the coins for a split second until I got a "You have lost connection to the EA Servers" message.
My son played my 360 for 3 hours straight yesterday without losing any connectivity.

To keep your connection healthy in an environment where you have many devices connected it is recommended to reset your router every now and then. It could be that your internet provider changes your IP address often, and your router doesn't catch on, or maybe it's getting bogged down by too many connections at once (which can happen if you download a lot). There isn't an easy way to figure out what the problem is. Most importantly you can reset your router when it suits you, there is no need to do that while everyone is playing or using internet.
From my own experience, when I connect 4-5 devices to a router, on one of the devices I will experience some connection issues.
Have you tried any of the troubleshooting steps advised above?
I also have a second issue where now twice, when I've completed Guantlet Challenges, the screen has gone completely black permenantly. I can hit the button and get to the Xbox Live Screen, but Madden is completely blank black screen.
