QB Spy and defensive assist bug

Summarize your bug When assigning a lineman to spy the QB, instead of spying the QB the lineman switches assignments with the closets LB or DB and ends up in coverage thus leaving the WR, TE, or RB open because the lineman is vastly slower with no coverage ability. The overall A-I and defensive assist is poor, as players don't play in the area or assignment given or make plays on the ball without being controlled. Also, several times, players on offense have neglected to even attempt to catch passes even when wide open.
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Assign a DL, especially a DE to spy the QB against a pass play. The player will often drop back in coverage instead of shadowing the QB for containment as a spy should.
What happens when the bug occurs? The slower DL who has dropped in coverage allows the receiver to get open.
What do you expect to see? I expect the DL to remain in QB spy and containment and shadow the QB, instead of dropping into coverage where he isn't fast enough or adept at coverage enough to cover receivers.

And superstar and X factor abilities should either work or be eliminated, because I've seen WRs break tackles better than RBs with frieght train or wrecking ball abilities.
