How did I do this? I downloaded the Xbox One version onto my X console. Now my X console has both versions of Madden 21: “Xbox One” and “Series X/S.”

This is correct. The Next Gen consoles can download both versions of the games. Both players must be on the same version of the game, so if you're on a PS5/Xbox One Series X/S you need to install the launch version of the game.
