Every single year for at least the last 5 seasons the madden games have been plagued with the same problems. I do not remember the last time I could save my franchise without the game freezing. Defenders make interceptions while never looking at the ball. Defenders react with the button push and not with what is happening on field, an issue supposedly fixed 3 years ago. The MLB somehow can cover 2 tightends and the slot receiver anywhere within 10 to 20 yards of the QB. Even playing man, defenders instantly leave their coverage, even if they r in full sprint chasing the offensive player down field to react to the slot receiver or TE. They do this without looking at the QB at all and somehow just know when I throw the ball. Pump fakes barely worked at all in Madden 18 and no way to pump fake a specific receiver. Defenders almost always fight for the ball more aggressively than the offensive player. Even the best WRs can’t seem to bring in contested catches against the defender. Interception and swat animations automatically took over, not allowing u to make athletic plays on the ball. Many times I’d throw it up with one on one coverage against OBJ. I’d cut back to the ball but the interception animation would not allow OBJ to make a legitimate play on the ball when I’d try. The defenders almost always come down with tipped passes, bobbled throws, or any contested catches. Many plays I cannot even use in the playbook because the QB WILL GET SACKED before the receivers can even run routes. QBs only throw inaccurate passes when receivers are open. The QB can make throws on the run and accords their body more accurately when throwing into coverage then passing to open receivers. On 4th downs id have a WR open and can NEVER accurately throw them the ball. QBs miss wide open receivers even on 5 yard passes. QBs almost always overthrow wide open streak routes. The precision passing while highly anticipated, was unusable because of how quickly the QB is sacked. Doesn’t matter how good my OL was I still get sacked 5 to 10 a game which drops my QBs injury rating. Earned XP was very unorganized and inconsistent. One long score TD earned a receiver only 1 xp while a short TD earned the same receiver late in the game 400+ xp. The drive goals were inaccurate, often asking me to accomplish tasks for my number 4 WR or second string RB??? Commentary was awful. They were supposed to update weekly… I don’t know what was being added. After the first week, you can hear all the commentary options expressed within one game playing with 6 min qtrs. The commentary had always been bad. They do not talk about what’s on the field. If they do, usually they talk about the wrong player. At times when my starting QB was injured, the backup would still get the starters commentary and even drive goals at times. The “big injury decisions” feature always was just really really really stupid. U could choose to play an injured player but in doing so their stats were reduced way lower than any other player at their respective position. Then you could have ur 90 ovr player reduced to like 70 ovr with their mobility stats all taking drastic hits. Not only is the injured player not even statically worthy of starting over any other player, but to keep the injured player out my back up and coach earn double xp!?! Why start the injured player ever? Their was/is literally no incentive to bring the injured player back early and every incentive to keep them out as the reward is far greater for them being hurt than to play them. Franchise mode continues to freeze when attempting to save, requiring for the game to be relaunched entirely. This is beyond annoying and I usually stop playing for some time once it freezes. Why can’t we make our own custom teams and jerseys? A feature that used to exist in previous games but has been removed? The current teams to choose from via relocation suck. They are all the same, just rendered different colors. It’s lazy. Every year the madden games have these same bugs. Every year! I do not think I will purchase Madden 19 as the very early reviews are demonstrating that non of these concerns have been addressed yet again. I want receivers who’ll play the ball, defenders who are not better at catching the ball then even the top WRs how do players with catching stats below 65 out play a WR who is 90+ catching 96 catch in traffic and 99 spectacular catch on every throw? I drafted OBJ in the first round and he’s useless, even against 75 ovr defenders. Also why is it that I throw more interceptions after I upgrade my QB? My rookie QB had 48 TDS and 15ints. Week 17 I throw 8 tds one pick. I won MVP. QB had nearly 90k in xp earned. He went from 75 ovr to 86 ovr. First game of the post season he threw 3 tds and 5 ints before I benched him and put in a 66 ovr back up who then threw 4 4th qtr TDs and finished the game with a perfect passer rating. Advancing to the next round, my starter again throws 3 picks with only one TD by halftime. I put in my crappy backup who throws 3 TDs while having only one Bullcrap int that was spiked into the air and picked off by a defender from the other side of the field. In the super bowl again my 66 ovr backup QB makes several good passes to bring me from a 3 score game to winning. My starter is over 90 ovr and the back up is barely 70. I can do every year with rookie QBs regardless of which one. How does the inconsistency from one player to the next make sense, especially when we are talking about a 20 point xp difference? The two QBs shouldn’t even be close let alone having the significantly lower rated QB far outshine the other…
