Are you able to invite your friend to a PSN party and then send them a game invite that way?

I recommend checking with your friend to make sure you are both playing on the correct version of the game together. Do you both have the Next Gen logo/Same box art for the game on your console?

Yeah we all activated the notifications and they're working, and yes i tried to get in a party with him and message him. We're sure we have the same version, console and same box art and update, everything.
