- ApprovedAnonymous10 years agoI just updated my PS4 with not only the latest PlayStation update but then a Madden update as well. I played one game of my connected franchise and when the game finished I exited to go back to the menu and I got the same spinning football with the same failed ticker half loaded at the bottom of the screen. The update did NOT fix this issue.

Junior are we talking one game into a new franchise? Or you recovered your old franchise?

@dan96max is correct in his post above.
From the patchnotes:
Addressed a rare issue that caused some Franchise files to be corrupted, preventing players from accessing their CFM (note: this won’t repair already corrupted files, and only prevents future occurrences)

Thanks for clarifying that. I will plan to delete all the saves and start fresh. I was maybe 12-14 games into the first season but considering how much I play this that really isn't a lot.
- ApprovedAnonymous10 years agoWhat if you save an already existing franchise as a new file?
- ApprovedAnonymous10 years ago
I am sorry I am new to this. How do I know it updated or how do I get the updates. I have xbox 360
- ApprovedAnonymous10 years ago
I meant xbox one
- ApprovedAnonymous10 years agoI played my existing franchise.
How do I delete files? It seems to be all online because I went into the options and files through the game and under franchise there was nothing listed?! Do I need to start a NEW franchise to save over the top of my existing one? Won't that just use the same files online somewhere anyway? To save integrity, is there a way of saving my franchise locally instead, maybe create a new franchise to recreate the files and then upload my previous franchise? - ApprovedAnonymous10 years ago
Great. Started everything over and I've had to hard reset 3 times because it keeps freezing when I sim to my QB's turn. If you guys are looking for testers that will actually test the product before it's released I'd be more than happy to apply. I'd rather be paid for getting aggravated other than vice versa.
- This game is a piece of *. I will NEVER AGAIN purchase any EA sports product. It is garbage that this * happens and I actively informing people of how awful this company and their support staff is. Y'all can rot for all I care. Thanks for screwing my franchise up and not fixing it. Back to 2K for me.
- ApprovedAnonymous10 years agoThe update did not fix anything for me and as I have stated before this problem occurs for me on OFFLINE Franchise mode as well as OFFLINE HEAD TO HEAD. From what I have read on this forum the problem as I stated before seems to be outside the platform and connected/offline modes of play.
What is the next step will you guys try to fix the problem again? @EA_Barry - ApprovedAnonymous10 years agoThis is STILL not fixed. FFS.
- ApprovedAnonymous10 years ago
Did you guys go in and delete all the old save files and start over? Or are you trying to continue the old save files? I'm only 2 games into a new franchise but deleted everything and started fresh.
- ApprovedAnonymous10 years agoSo EA how about franchises that are online? I don't have any files on my PS4 to delete...Are you telling me I have to delete my league on your cloud servers and start it all again???!

I don't know how the online stuff works. But from what EA said if you are trying to continue an old save that got corrupt before then you will end up with the same problem now. It won't fix saves that are already corrupt. You may not need to delete everything but you will need to start over with a fresh save.
- ApprovedAnonymous10 years ago@dan96max I dont have any saved files because the game freezes for me in offline head to head. I haven't even tried my offline franchise yet because if head to head doesn't work, why would franchise work?
- ApprovedAnonymous10 years agoNot sure if this'll help anyone but I read on another forum that heaps of people are having the same issue of the game freezing at the loading page just after completing a game (everyone now knows as the spinning football of death screen) well someone suggested to keep pressing CIRCLE (not sure what that'd be on X-box?!) for anout 30 seconds and goddammit it worked!! The franchise menu came up and I was able to play on without having to restart Madden. Now I'm unsure if it's just a coincidence because as stated, I don't have an offline game and all my game files are in some cloud somewhere. But I haven't deleted anything or started anything again. I will do some more testing tomorrow when I play again but maybe more people can give it a go?
Bought the game yesterday for xbox one, and this is happening with me. Surely I wouldn't have had the corrupted file stuff, my game would have downloaded with most up to date patch surely?
Getting a bit fed up of this, was the same last year, my game was bugged out for ages with the constant replaying of the panthers seahawks moment at the start, so infuriating that ive shelled out another £50 and immediately cant play CFM which was whole reason i bought the game.
So do i need to delete it all and reinstall it then? cant get why if i only bought it yesterday it would download with all the old bugs.

What is the exact problem that you had?
To recap what the main issue is in this thread
After playing a connected franchise game the User hits "Finish Game" and instead of being brought back to the Connected Franchise menu the User is returned to the main menu of the game. Then when trying to continue the connected franchise save in question the User gets stuck on a blue screen that has a large spinning football in the background, a ticker at the bottom and the Users screen name in the top right hand corner. The menu of the connected franchise never loads because the game save is now corrupt.
The 2nd patch released for this game addressed the issue. If you still have that exact scenario then please post it in detail so when/if EA responds and looks into it they have the info needed. If you experience game freezes, error messages, corrupt files or connection drops in any other scenario that doesn't involve the spinning football screen then you may have a different issue that hasn't been addressed yet.
I have only played through 3 games of a completely new connected franchise save and so far it hasn't corrupted anything. Prior to the patch it was happening almost every game but that was in week 12 of year one. So only time will tell as more of us get deeper into our franchise play.
thanks for response man.
Well the exact issue is i play a game of connected franchise, click "finish game" and it goes straight onto blue spinning football page and i need to shut down madden.
It doesn't put me out to main menu as you stated in your reply...possibly a new bug?

Sounds like the same issue. I think mine may have done it straight from the game menu like you described the first time it happened.
So if you installed it in the last day or two I would assume it was installed from xbox live with the patch applied. Did the game prompt you for an update when you first started it? If not maybe try fully shutting the xbox off (hold power button on console) and then restarting the game to see if you get a prompt for an update.
It would be nice if we could check game version numbers. Xbox one seems to do a pretty good job of hiding all that info from the user. Unless I'm missing something but I can't find any detailed info about whats installed. If you have the patch and are still getting the spinning football then the problem hasn't been fixed correctly by EA.

Also maybe try JUNIOR097's suggestion of hitting the circle button (B on xbox) for around 30 seconds to see if it gets you past the spinning football screen.
- ApprovedAnonymous10 years agoAn update on my testing. Ok firstly I've only tested this twice more. The first one I hit the exit game, waited for like 10 seconds and then started mashing the circle button. The game was stuck and didn't go anywhere and I had to restart Madden like a chump. The next time I hit the exit game and mashed the circle button immediately afterwards like my life depended on it and bam I'm back at the next game menu!! So twice now I've mashed circle straight after exiting the game and it's gotten me back to the menu. Can someone else try it and see if this is a work-around until EA pull their finger out and fix it?! Oh and if it works and is a legitimate work-around (even though I stole the idea off another forum) I'd like some recognition EA...maybe some free stuff!? LOL
