I noticed today I had a pending Xbox update. Update completed and the problem persists.

Now the game crashed on the loading sequence. I didn’t even get in at all. But there’s a large update downloading now. Will let you know how it goes. 

Okay this is for everyone who is having trouble with their franchise mode. All you have to do is on your favorite team that you created your players on or any type of customization that you did to the team you need to make the team as it was when the game first came out. Man you need to release all your players to free agency you have to do this before you load up the franchise you have to make sure there is no created players on your team or any type of customization for that team. Load up the franchise you select the pre-existing roster. When they close up and asked you to select your favorite team that you want to control if it does not pop up the team that you put as your favorite team when you first sign into Madden then this means that you did not delete something off of that team there is something still going on. Because when I loaded up the franchise my favorite team which is the 49ers was the first team that popped up with all the right players on their the normal players I should say. I selected the team I created a coach and I started off in pre-season after starting off in pre-season before I did anything else I went straight to free agency and I signed all my created players back onto my team ever since then I have no problems at all I've been able to play for over three days now and Counting. Ben you save the game so that way the players are saved onto your team. You might not be able to sign all your players back onto your team due to the crowded roster that is already there what you have to do is release certain players from your team that you don't want and sign your created players to your team. Someway somehow The Bangles ended up with my defense tackle created player and I had to take control of that team to release him in order for me to sign him back to my team which is the 49ers. This is why I put my gamertag out there so that way anybody who is having trouble can reach out on the Xbox because it's kind of hard to explain through a message on here I'm better off telling you step-by-step what to do so that way you can enjoy the game that you spent your hard-working earnings on. I was kind of upset at first but now I am very satisfied due to what I found and what I did. CRIP BIRDMAN400.... that is my gamertag to those who are on Xbox as far as PS4 I do not have a gamertag for that yet but I'm pretty sure you can possibly do the same thing I did and it should work

Ok, I finished the update, did a hard power cycle, and went back into my existing franchise.  Same problem - it crashes loading preseason game 1 (kicked back out to Xbox home screen).

I loaded the default rosters, created one player, started a new franchise and BOOM!  It works.  So for @EA_Barry the problem lies somewhere in the number of created players.

And for the record, releasing and resigning 2 dozen or more created players creates a MASSIVE cap issue.  You're paying penalties each time you cut someone (most players).  So that's not a viable option.

EDIT: sorry, I misread your post.  I'll try releasing them prior to franchise creation.  That might work, thanks.

Thank you for the workaround, @CRIPBIRDMAN! We still want to gather some information the Madden team is requesting so we can ultimately get this addressed so a workaround isn't necessary. How many created players do you have on your team before you release them?

Ok I did 8 different tests well its been doing the same the game allows you to have 12 created players for offline connected franchise season mode anything higher than that it crashes.

I have zero created players and the game hasn't worked in over a week. Offline crashes each time I load a game, EA is just Dog S... plain and simple. 

I can't even try this because to input all of my created players into a team I had to release a lot of real players of that team into free agency and i wont remember all those players. I cant believe this is even an issue on a brand new game
