Re: Madden 20 crashing Xbox One S system

@iBLEEDBLU09

I know crashes can really be upsetting to deal with, especially when you don't have a lot of time to sit down and play. Let's get it fixed.

Do you have the game installed on an external hard drive? I've seen situations where files will be located on both the internal and external drive which can lead to performance issues. I recommend installing it on the internal drive if you're not using an actual Microsoft/Xbox licensed external drive.

  • Have you tried reinstalling the game or power cycled the console?

  • Where is the game exactly crashing on you? Which mode and is it when you're doing something specific or completely random?

How to power cycle your Xbox console:

  1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button  on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
  2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

  1. Plug the console power cable back in.
  2. Press the Xbox button  on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

    I recently purchased and downloaded Madden 20 and it consistently crashes on any game mode, often during game load or during game play.  This is very frustrating.  Is there a patch coming soon?  I’m seeing a ton of posts about this problem.

  • @FreshGameJust deleted and reinstalled Madden 20 onto local Xbox hard drive overnight (thinking external drive may be causing the issue). First game I started the game crashed within minutes. No error code. It just crashes out and goes to Xbox home menu. This is so frustrating. The game in basically unplayable.

    This is a super important step to ensure files still aren't on both, but did you uninstall the game and unplugged the external drive to double-check the internal to see if there were still Madden files located on there prior to reinstalling?

    When a console dashboards that is usually cache related. Have you tried a power cycle as well?

    This is still a serious issue, the game came out almost a year ago and I still get at least one crash a day. It will happen in any game mode while playing. A few days ago I had five crashes to dashboard in one sitting. Suffice it to say I won't be buying Madden 21...
