- I liked my analogy so I’m bringing it back.
Imagine youmove into a house right , pay rent. Your faucet breaks. You tell the landlord “hey come fix my faucet” (franchise mode) , then you call him back and say “hey no water is coming out of the faucet , plus it fell out the wall , plus my bathtub broke , plus the water comes out boiling , plus the mirror broke , plus the toilet overflows , plus my windows aren’t sealed and it gets really cold. All this stuff was like this when I moved in I just didn’t notice”. But you called him at Madden 16. So now , it gets to be Madden 21 , and he calls you back and goes “hey I just sealed the windows so now you won’t be cold” and you call him back the next day and go “yea but now it shatters when I open it” (crashing when you play) and he goes “well take the window off , then put it back on , and make sure you don’t hit it with a hammer , that’ll break it” and you’re sitting there like “1. Why are you making me do stuff to fix stuff you’re not only supposed to fix , but I’ve been asking you to fix for 5 years. 2. WHAT ABOUT ALL THE OTHER STUFF” and he comes and fixes the toilet. Then you’re like “WHAT ABOUT THE WINDOW ? WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER STUFF”. And he goes “I’ll be back in Mid January to add in some new curtains” and you go “I DIDNT ASK YOU FOR CURTAINS” and he’s like “well you’re gettin em”. In a nutshell , that’s how playing this game is. And if they were doing what I felt like trying their hardest is , which considering they go to school for this kind of stuff , I’m not convinced , or maybe if they would actually fix the problem without creating more problems or ignoring another problem , I’d feel like “maybe we should cut em some slack” OR MAYBE if they made literally ANY noticeable changes to franchise without us having to threaten to never buy the game again , I’d be like “hey man watch your mouth” but , at this point. I feel disrespected. And have for a while. So they deserve it at this juncture. Worst part , you can’t even threaten them (obviously not physically because that’s just not cool). Like even if you were like “hey I’m not buying the game” evidence shows , they’d be like “well other people buy the game , so YOU can go kick rocks bud”. When players retire they don’t go to the HoF regardless of their Legacy Score. That’s super annoying. It’s like I’m playing this thing for no reason.
I'm about 80-85% sure that if you delete the entire game on ps4 and then turn off your internet and redownload and play completely offline it should work. The Redskins are still a thing if you do it this way. They didnt even fix the team they had to patch it 😂😂😂
Genuine question. Aside from the bug of returning to the main menu after each franchise mode game which is really frustrating and disappointing how difficult it is seemingly to fix.... has the latest patch made All-Madden mode ridiculously difficult even with slider sets? CPU seems unstoppable, can’t shed blocks or anything when on Defense and every QB plays like a Hall of Famer.
Not sure if this will help anyone but it works for me, my situation Is I'm a FS in my franchise mode and after each game, try to exit, and it blue screens. I've been messing around and I've yet to blue screen after doing this. Usually, when you pick a certain player for a certain position in franchise you are only the field when that player is on the field and only control that player, I believe that's messing with the simulation and causing the blue screen. What I did was turn on Full On-Field Control in the league settings and It seems to work for me. It controls the whole team but a quick fix I found was to just tap on "play all offense" or "play all defense" depending on your position. From there you just have to switch onto your player and double-tap the left stick and it's just like you are controlling them. You have to do it every play but It's easy to get used to, I'm just happy I'm able to play a game, hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing what helped you from your personal experience, @Oamsxd
@dannerparty1
Sharing workaround fixes is helpful. At this point the dev team should have everything they need to address this, so account examples aren't needed at the moment. Workaround fixes may or may not always work for everyone, but giving each other any insight on what can help progress their Franchise is always encouraged. We're all in this huddle together. Like many of you, I've been super frustrated with this situation. To have it solved and then unsolved in a matter of weeks has made my experience less than ideal. I play in a competitive GM league where we watch slow sims of the rosters we have assembled and to have us not be able to complete a game has really soured our experience. However, i felt like sharing a work-around that has been successful and allows you to save slow sim data at the end of a game.
1. Run your game as you normally would. Either slow sim or play important moments
2. When you get to the final play or two in the 4th quarter, press the PS button that takes you to the home screen.
3. Hit "options" button and select close application
4. Reopen Madden and head straight for your franchise. It will ask if you want to resume, select resume.
5. Finish the last play or two on normal or fast speed sim OR play the last play or two. Do NOT run another play on slow sim.
6. The game will finish and all your stats and results will save. The only catch is it tricks the CPU to thinking all your points were scored in the 4th quarter.
Obviously, this is not what we should have to do or want to do, but it's the best I've got until EA fixes this again. Of note, this can really be hard when your game comes down to the last play or heads to overtime. You'll have to decide how you want to handle those situations. Hope this helps.
I haven’t been able to play my franchise for weeks. Luckily I have a PS5, this better not happen on the next gen! This has been a constant problem all year and it’s never fixed! INEXCUSABLE! You all need to be held accountable, cause this is down right shameful and embarassing!
I’m getting extremely nervous about the PS5/ Xbox One release. No gameplay footage + poor leadership of EA + poor game developers = DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN
5+ weeks madden hasn’t worked now... I want to ask how EA sleeps at night ? But y’all sleeping just fine because none of you are working on this dumpster fire you call a video game...
- @ElCapitan0325 This worked! It’s a pain in the asterisk, but it works!

Can anyone else confirm this works? If that's the case, we may mark this as a temporary solution in the meantime to increase visibility on this until it's fixed.
- @EA_Blueberry That’s actually how my game corrupted the data the most recent time. I’d really appreciate somebody offering a solution to be able to play my old files again. It technically doesn’t say “this data is corrupted” but when I go to open it , it just keeps going back to the same screen. It does it on both auto save and hard save. So all progress is essentially lost.
- @EA_Blueberry This does work. It’s a pain, but it works
Oh my God... seriously can’t make this up.... so EA decided to release Madden 21 for PS5/XB a day early... and then disabled the online cause of technical issues..... WHY THE FFFF WAS IT RELEASED EARLY?!! I mean Jesus Christ... what in the hell is going on with EA. I think its time to clear house.... 2K is thousands of years ahead of EA, maybe EA needs to take some advice
@EA_Blueberry another thing , on top of crashing and losing all progress , nobody makes the hall of fame unless they’re already at about 9k legacy score to start. No matter what I do or how high they’re score gets , they won’t be there. & why do we keep having to use “work around fixes” ? I bet MUT doesn’t have to do work around fixes.
Quick Update for Next Gen People: There is no crash that I experienced yet
- @jujusmith3333 Nice! Something they got right in Next Gen!
People will keep buying ea games and they know this. Thats why they are in no hurry to fix this and expect us to mess around to finish a game what a joke.
I can’t in good conscious buy another EA product after this game. I understand problems happen, but the way EA has dealt with their fans over the past few years is disgusting and very disrespectful.
@EA_Blueberry, please tell me there is a fix for this franchise bug real soon. Are the devs aware of the problem? I truly cannot enjoy this game with this franchise bug in place.
That's what I play, franchise mode. It's the only thing I play in Madden! It makes it hard for me to launch a franchise season and have the game crash and not record my victory. Leaving me to play the exact same game over again! Please tell me there is a fix coming ASAP! Thanks.
- @QuirogaK_Gamer He said there wasn’t a couple days ago. If we have something by New Years I’d be surprised (I’m only speculating).
I have some good and bad news for you guys. As I said about a month ago EA is more concern with Next Gen and I was correct. I ran 2 slow sim games as most have tried here and ended up crashing. Well this doesn’t happen on the ps5. So it appears that the issue was fixed on Next Gen and not the ps4. With this being said, there are new in game issues now. So either way this game is still full of flaws. For those that want to know, the new added additional are little to known; it’s kind of embarrassing that they took this long to give us little to nothing on Next Gen. smh the game doesn’t crash, so I guess I should be happy.
Can someone please tell me if they have yet fixed this thanks
- @dragonheart535 lmaoooooooooo of course not.
