Ok, I am playing the franchise using Devon Wade. The problem I have is upgrading.. I Have 12 skill points to use and tried upgrading Scrambler (only need one skillpoint to upgrade) when I click on Scrambler I get the error Message "not enough skillpoints to buy this bucket" Anyone else experience this. If so how did you fix it please? T.I.A.

Are you on a Player only franchise mode or do you have coach/owner selected? If it's on player only you can't change the position.
Thats what I said I’m on a player with not franchise and the other guy is Devon wade.

So this looks to be some UI confusion and we've made the team aware of it.
The workaround is that you can switch their position in order to apply the XP. BUT, if you do that workaround and still can't upgrade them that means they've already been maxed out in that archetype. The "no more skill points for this bucket" really means "they're maxed out."
Yeah, this doesn't fix the issue for people who are playing as only player and not coach/franchise. This is a bug that will effect everybody as they get to maxing their players, the issue is that the upgrade system increases multiple stats at a time and as your player reaches max it tries to increase one of the predefined stats and hits the ceiling and throws an error. The only time this won't happen is if the person upgrading their player gets lucky and didn't hit these ceilings. This has happened to me on every player I've created except for one. Really badly designed upgrade system and should have been fixed ages ago.
Playing as an owner in franchise mode this solution worked for me. I had Deon Cain at 99 with two skill sets at 98. Kept getting the error message every time I went to upgrade. I changed his position to TE and then back to WR. Worked like a charm.
I was having the same problem in my cloud franchise. I’m playing as a Coach, I had a WR with this issue. I changed him to HB then back to WR and I was able to use his skill points immediately

I am also having this problem (Xbox Series X, Madden 23') while playing with Jalen Hurts on the Philadelphia Eagles. "Field General" and "Improviser" are locked at 99 but "Strong Arm" & and "Scrambler" are 98 and 97 respectively and to date I have 2 skill points to spend
