Re: PS4 / HDR patch Madden18

Has nothing to do with that.  The TV shows an HDR source is playing perfectly fine and ALL of my 4k/HDR blu rays play just fine.  It is NOT the connections or the TV.

It is how the original PS4 (non Pro) is handling the Madden 18 HDR software update.

    @Symbius

    Assuming you have set all of the settings detailed at my previously posted link and (PS4) system software 4.0 or later installed, you might try setting the TV to 'game' mode and the colour space to 'Native'.

    Check the questions and answers at the bottom of the following page that relate to your TV for more info:

    Thanks.

    Unfortunately that does nothing.

    The only thing that works is turning the TV's ability to broadcast HDR content OFF.   Once this is done, the game essentially sees a non HDR TV and doesn't attempt to use the HDR software.

    The problem is most definitely on either EA or Sony in how the HDR within Madden 18 is being handled.  All EA has to do is pop in a disc with a standard PS4 and watch the picture turn to garbage after the game begins trying to use the HDR programming.

    EDIT to note for anyone not sure how to turn OFF the TV's ability to use HDR on the Samsung KS line of TV's.  Go into the settings and find UHD Color, turn the HDMI port that the PS4 is connected to OFF.  So ON = HDR and OFF = No HDR.
