Re: Solo Battles disconnecting after you finish

@bwsmith33071

I just came back from the weekend.

Do you run any programs in the background while you're playing. Any overlays? Curious if we can figure out if one of them is conflicting with Origin.

I know it's not ideal, but have you tried re-installing the game or right-clicking on it in your library to repair it to see if there was any positive effect?

    @EA_Blueberry I run nothing (i.e. nothing demanding, just normal windows background programs) other than the game when I'm playing.

    Honestly, it really seemed to be more something going on on that Sunday morning than anything. Hasn't happened since (at least not when I couldn't identify the issue, I had 2 DNFs that were completely on my end). What concerned me was that it was 2 games in a short time from each other.

    This is a fairly fresh install of windows (I did a clean install of everything, including Origin, around the middle of February).

    My PC specs if your interested:

    i9-9900K-8 Cores @ 5.0 GHz
    ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero (Wi-Fi) Z390 -LGA1151
    Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB (4x16GB) 3200MHz C16 DDR4 DRAM Asus RX480 OC 8gb (hoping to upgrade once the shortages end)

    I take it you have the latest Windows Updates installed? If you come across this again, can you immediately check if there is an anti-virus scan taking place on your PC? Some anti-virus software can affect connectivity to the servers.

    @EA_Blueberry Yes, everything is updated. I run virus scans manually so there's no interference when I'm doing something. Only normal windows processes running in the background. I'm old so I vividly remember having a processor running at 233mghz. Because of that I'm still in the habit of not running multiple programs if I don't have to lol.

    When you finish a Solo Battles game do you have any tendencies to spam the menu with buttons to get out quicker? From what I see it seems unlikely like a connection issue, although opening up ports could potentially benefit you but no guarantees if this can fully resolve the disconnection for this specific mode. We'll definitely let the team know we're seeing these reports on the forums. I'm curious if there's a player behavior that could be the link to this happening which we'll need to log down as a bug. I've seen spamming buttons lead to technical issues in the past which is why I'm specifically bringing that up.

    @EA_Blueberryfrankly, I faced so many issues in Solo Battles resulting in a DNF (29 DNFs in Madden 20, about 20 DNFs in M21 so far...) that I'm pretty convinced that the algorithm (to avoid cheating) is set much too strict as soon as a short disconnection happens or just some data packets are lost or any other issue occurs. just so many things can happen (at the player's device (e.g. xbox, PS, PC); at the player's other devices necessary for internet connection (e.g. modem, WIFI, router, cables...); somewhere between the player's router and EA servers; bugs; corrupted caches; etc. etc.) which simply cannot be controlled or prevented by the players, nor by EA... ☹️

    I know my comment is not helpful for solving your issue @bwsmith33071 but I just wanted to support your @EA_Blueberry plan to pass this info on to the team (>>>We'll definitely let the team know we're seeing these reports on the forums.<<<).

    just to add: if a disconnect/desync error occurs in H2H games, at least one of the involved players benefits from the issue. in Solo Battles it is just enormously frustrating because the only one who "pays the price" (in terms of lower rewards of a full week's event) is the player...

    @EA_Blueberry Nope, no spamming. End screen comes up to show stats, I clicked "Finish Game" on the bottom. Screen immediately changed to splash screen and then the game selection menu showed up showing a DNF. Again, I appreciate the due diligence but with my play for the months before and since being fine (i.e. for any of the few DNFs that occurred, the reasons were identified, such as cable briefly going out) it just seems like it was specific to that particular day.

    No problem. If you can update this post with anything you feel could be a factor on this that's out of the ordinary that can benefit us and the community. Let's hope you avoid this going forward and it was only specific to that day like you said, good luck on the field!
