For an online franchise each user needs to play from their own console, even if they're matched up against each other. Both players should be able to play each other when offline franchise is selected.

    This is unacceptable that EA cannot figure out how two users can play in an online franchise from one console. Earlier versions would allow this. For EA to say that one family cannot play online with another family unless every member of each family gets a separate console is ludicrous. Why does EA make it so hard to enjoy Madden?
