I believe that @Neo_Novalis is correct about the restarting thing, although in my case I only needed to restart it before my game "session," not right before the 12th game. By "session" I mean when I start to play the game after my Xbox has gone into idle/sleep mode. Whenever starting up Madden after sleep/idle, it has never been able to connect to the EA servers until I "nudge" it by signing out of Xbox and then signing back in. I suspect that while this "nudge" worked around the particular issue of not being able to connect, it still leaves the game in an invalid state that can manifest itself in other bugs. For example, last week I ran into the issue where it was showing zero "battle score" points after a Solo game. I quit the game and restarted it, and after the next Solo game the points showed up just fine.
So now whenever I am done playing Madden, I explicitly quit the game via the Xbox menu. It results in having to deal with the load time next time I play it, but it is worth avoiding the bugs - yesterday was the first time I was able to complete the 13th game (I played all 4 games in one session, so did not have to restart after the 12th game. YMMV).
This could also be why it seems to be the same people who encounter this bug repeatedly; perhaps, like me, they often leave their console idle after playing (as opposed to shutting it off) so that when they go back to Madden they do not have to wait for the load time. It could also be a cache issue (as @Neo_Novalis mentioned), or a combination of the two.
this issue hits me 2 times. 1st time when playing the last 4 games in a row, and the 2nd time when playing the last 4 games in 2 parts. so in my opinion you can not influence the result positively by doing different things befor the last game.
and of course again today. i had 2 games left. featured opponent and 1 regular. i played the regular first and after the game was ended the "pending results" screen pops up and the featured opponent game is no longer available.
@EA How long do we have to endure this unacceptable state of solo battles?

We're not seeing reports like we've seen in the past and this is either very isolated or the result of not qualifying for the 13th game due to not playing the other games prior to the cut-off.
i had it now 2 weeks in a row. last week it cuts me the last game and the week befor the last 2 games.
