The real shame is that from what i've been able to play combining multiple work arounds is the fact that the game plays really great this year. It's pretty lame though that a lot of us can't really truly enjoy it...
Your Dxdiag reports have been forwarded to the relevant people and our investigation into this performance issue is ongoing.
Thank you for you help here while we continue to work on the issue.
- 6 years ago@EA_Barry Its been weeks since this was reported. "Forwarded dx diags" isn't good enough. There is a zero percent chance your team would not have made a single inch of headway on this issue in that time if they were really putting any resources at all into it. What has the "ongoing investigation" found so far?
Sounds like their investigation found that people are starting to refund and cancel premium.

@EA_Barryi really hope/appreciate you guys are trying to fix the issue, but just saying we're looking into it is getting really old at this point. i'm not asking for a timeline...But can you or someone else please tell us a little more then "we're working on it". ...i respect fixes take time but keep us in the loop please...

Still having this issue, but it's not as bad as it was originally. I changed 'Max pre-rendered frames' from defaults to 1, and that lowered the CPU usage of the Madden process from 90% down to around 75%.
It still spikes up to 90% occasionally which makes it stutter and choppy at times, but it's now actually playable.
System specs for reference:

16gb ram
GTX 2070
Gigabyte z97x Gaming 5 mobo
- 6 years ago@Diablo_Muertes Where do you changed that?
- 6 years ago@Diablo_Muertes how and where did you change that?

In the nVidia control panel, manage 3D settings. Program settings tab, choose select a program and choose Madden NFL 20. Then change the "Maximum pre-rendered frames" to 1, and apply. Haven't tried this yet, will shorty to see how it works
- 6 years ago@eksployted thanks, about to try this right now, will report back if i still get PC crashes.

Just updated Madden this morning
changed pre rendered frames to one and the issue has gotten worse.
Couldn’t even kickoff on the first exhibition game
game froze and my pc crashed.

no issues in Madden 19

Yup after the update there is still unplayable stutter. The play art with MSAA enabled is still invisible so that wasn't even addressed either.
Doesn't help that their patch notes/"gridiron notes" is just a trash MUT blog so we don't even know if the updates even attempt a fix.

With the huge array of PCs reporting this issue, the only common link being i5 processors, it's impossible to believe that neither QA teams nor early testers didn't point out this stuttering and crashing. The response to this has been awful and it's been weeks of stalling... It's ridiculous that the first patch doesn't address this at all

People with i7s are reporting the issue too. People thought it was also Nvidia but some with AMD also said they have it. I attribute most of them being i5 and nVidia simply because they are by far the most common hardware

Awesome no solo battles this week because they are screwed up too. I don’t know about anyone else but I’m really enjoying madden this year.

@Diablo_Muertes @eksploytedNot sure if its all this or all the patch or a combo of both but my games finally running nearly perfect with no need for realtime priority or turning down the crowd volume. thanks for sharing this guys and anyone who hasn't tried it yet i encourage you to do so.

Changes have been made which should resolve this issue for at least some people.
Can anyone confirm the issue is resolved or partially resolved please?
Thanks.
- 6 years ago@EA_Barry For me, if I change to realtime priority and Maximum Prerendered Frames to 1, it runs smoother but not perfect like Madden 19. Still have stuttering and freezings but the freezings are "only" two or three seconds instead of ten or fifteen seconds.
My CPU Usage is between 75% and 95% with 30 FPS Lock. In Madden 19 was my CPU Useage between 65% and 85% with no stuttering or freezings.
I wish i could play Madden 20 so smooth like Madden 19.

Nope still using 100% cpu
- 6 years ago@EA_Barry like i said a few posts ago my game runs nearly as good as madden 19
- 6 years ago@EA_Barry No changes for me. I still have to set the process in real time
- 6 years ago@EA_Barry No changes for me either

@EA_BarryOn game boot-up I can now sometimes play around 4 minutes of a game before it becomes an unplayable mess like usual. If I restart the game entirely sometimes it gives me another 4ish minutes of smooth game play but it also sometimes stutters straight from kickoff. This happens regardless of settings in-game and in Nvidia control panel. Have yet to make it to halftime in a game.

@EA_BarryNo changes for me either. If anything, CPU usage seems to be even higher. Before the last update, during gameplay, the usage was in the mid 90's most of the time, now it stays at 100 %. In menu's, CPU usage is up by 10% to somewhere in the 70's after today's update.
