Today's update on PS5 finally fixed it. I forced a user hit stick fumble in my second attempt at the Ultimate Kickoff/NFC - Saints challenge. Thank you!

hey, i’ve been playing madden 21 on the xbox series s franchise mode. i can’t get any hit sticks or hit suck fumbles. i’ve used the x and right stick. can someone help?!?!?

@DanielsRyan82 I have the same issue on Xbox Series X. I have yet to get credit for a hit stick tackle on any of the hit stick challenges. I’ve also done the hit stick tutorial thing and I’ve only gotten it to register if I do it like 6 yards too early. I obviously wiff on the tackle but it says “timing too early”. No kidding. If I time it perfect and lay the guy out it says that I didn’t even attempt a hit stick. So stupid/frustrating.

@Protoolz47 thank you for reporting this issue! just a question for clarification: both successful and unsuccessful hit sticks are not counted towards the objective?

@Neo_Novalis So what's weird is that the various animations for a hit stick occurs but during the next play calling screen it shows 0/5 towards the x factor objective. I also do not see the message of "user hit stick" like I have seen when I am successful. Only successful hit sticks are counted toward the objective.

@Protoolz47 ok. I see similar patterns for other players too (most recently my Barry Sanders rushed for 10 yards and I got a 1st Down but it was not counted for his x-factor). sometimes I do not understand why a play/tackle/catch etc. is counted or not counted. in principle (or at least to my understanding), only successful plays should be counted. but of course it is an issue, if the "counting" itself does not always work correctly.

I experienced the same with barry. I would say about 50% of his little over 10 yard (but clearly over 10 yards, because of a new 1st down) runs are not counting for his x-factor.

@DanielsRyan82 I faced similar issues. Sometimes the required timing seems to be very unexepected (although for me it's even more severe when doing a juke move. But I would also try what @cfatrain6 suggests: try to hit the button earlier.

@rileyhsnell ehm, what is a "hit suck fumble"? :D

but now seriously, recently I've read about the same problem reported from (at least) two other players that they had difficulties doing a hit stick. not sure whether it is a bug but to me it seems to be a matter of timing. I often press the button too early or too late to successfully do a hit stick. maybe it is worth doing some trials in practice mode to find out the best timing?

as a sidenote: if you want to do hit sticks to fulfill specific targets (e.g. activating an x-factor, etc.), the hit stick has to be successful (which most often is shown somewhere at the screen (not sure where it is on xbox, on PC is at the top of the screen)

Summarize your bug Hit sticks don't register for any of the x factor abilities. Tested in practice and game, hit sticks, cut sticks, nothing registers.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Maybe actually test your game idk, this is like the fifth bug i've found and I haven't even been playing this game a month. It's honestly ridiculous I can't remember the last time I've dealt with so many bugs in a AAA title like this
