Upgrading the player before getting a NAT trade-in

Ok, I am quite limited in what I am able to accomplish/complete in MUT as it is almost the end of the MUT series.  If I put 95 Travis Kelce (non-NAT) in my upgrade system and complete NFL playoff Adrian Wilson package, I will get Travis Kelce back as a NAT.  Do I lose training points if I utilize his full upgrade beforehand, or should I hold off the merge and do the Adrian Wilson package first?

    @RHY_SO_SURIOUS I'm not exactly sure what you mean (therefore I try to reformulate it): if I got it right, you want to put Travis Kelce's 95 OVR item into a set to get NFL playoff Adrian Wilson (and you will get Travis Kelce back as NAT). your question is now whether you could update Kelce before completing the set and the upgrades will still be there in the NAT item (after completing the set). correct?

    if this was your question, I'd suggest to complete the set first and upgrade the NAT item only afterwards. the NAT item will not have any upgrades and therefore you'd lose training points.
