why can I play madden 19 through Steam and not through Origin

Opening Madden 19 Though Origin or normal Steam gives me an infinite loop of controller select screens.  Opening up Madden 19 in Steam´s Big Picture mode works just fine.  EA should have their * under control but This game seems to be a joke.  I have waited patiently for several years to be able to play madden on pc but atm it is just not working
