Forum Discussion
Hey, Madden NFL PC fans.
This is something we’re exploring for the future. We’re still early in the transition to next-gen and right now are focused on making the best, quality experience on new consoles before we look to upgrade other platforms.
@EA_Blueberry If you can get any sort of clarification on whether or not PC will get a next gen update THIS YEAR then I am sure this backlash would stop and we would all either buy or re-subscribe to EA Play again.

That information is not yet available. When we find out more information around these plans we'll share them here.- JMEllis20204 years agoSeasoned Adventurer@EA_Blueberry Hopefully soon, because we only have until the end of this month to preorder to get the bonuses. Whatever you can find out would be appreciated. I'm just frustrated because like I said, I know its pretty simple to just port the game according some sources that I trust within game development.
As I said, the game that has been shown looks great and like its headed in the right direction. That version just needs to be offered to PC as well or at least show the current gen version in a deep dive of the differences between the versions so people will know for sure what they are getting.- 4 years ago
@JMEllis2020 @EA_Blueberry I think having a similar dual entitlement system on PC would be the best solution. This allows people with old hardware to still play the game if the dev team is worried about that being the problem. I really like the direction the game is going and want to play it, but I can't play it in good faith knowing it is not the best user experience EA can provide. Especially considering we didn't get the Madden 21 Next Gen update so waiting 2 years for new features is ridiculous.
EDIT: It seems also likely the Fifa team may follow suit here with their Next Gen features, which will just cause this same problem to repeat of people cancelling their PC subscriptions and just not wanting to buy the game knowing it is an inferior product. I am not sure if you browse reddit Blueberry, but this thread here also helps illustrate the community frustration: https://www.reddit.com/r/Madden/comments/oajgyc/cancelled_ea_play_because_madden_on_pc_is_a_joke/

Yea I'm done with EA, and 2k.
Has nothing to do with hardware or software. Any game can easily be scaled across multiple PC's.
MUT is EA's money maker, and I am sure PC users scare them to death with mods and access to game files.
That is the only reason you are saving "next gen" features for consoles that any graphics card sold in the last 4 years can outperform.
I refuse to get these games, and I do own a ps5, but I'm done with 1440p, screen tearing, and lack of 3d audio for actual speakers.
Built a gaming rig with a 3090 and none of my favorite games are going to be playable.
Next gen....lol, but your game runs best on a 2019 apu.
Done with all EA and 2k products

@EA_Blueberry Any updates on this yet? Its getting closer and closer to the release and I have no clue what I'm getting still if I get the PC version. If I'm getting the watered down last gen no features version or if I'm getting the awesome next gen version that is worth buying.

The information you're requesting is unfortunately too far out to confirm. We do not have any concrete time-frame to share on the future plans for next-gen features coming to PC outside of what was stated earlier. I completely understand your concern on investing into the game with fear of these features not coming out on that platform. I wish I had more info for you right now to put that to rest. My best advice is to consider an EA Play membership for PC so you can experience the full game itself for a limited time. If it meets your expectations, I'd say that is where you can decide if you want to purchase the full game for the long haul or consider an EA Play Pro membership which gives you the best edition of the game along with a library of other game titles you can also enjoy.
