@EA_Blueberry Any updates on this yet? Its getting closer and closer to the release and I have no clue what I'm getting still if I get the PC version. If I'm getting the watered down last gen no features version or if I'm getting the awesome next gen version that is worth buying.
The information you're requesting is unfortunately too far out to confirm. We do not have any concrete time-frame to share on the future plans for next-gen features coming to PC outside of what was stated earlier. I completely understand your concern on investing into the game with fear of these features not coming out on that platform. I wish I had more info for you right now to put that to rest. My best advice is to consider an EA Play membership for PC so you can experience the full game itself for a limited time. If it meets your expectations, I'd say that is where you can decide if you want to purchase the full game for the long haul or consider an EA Play Pro membership which gives you the best edition of the game along with a library of other game titles you can also enjoy.

@EA_BlueberrySo there is no reason for current gen or PC players to buy your watered down Madden 22 then since it doesn't seem like anyone at EA cares about giving info or REAL reasons as to why they won't put both versions on the PC so people that CAN'T get a next gen console, but have a powerful enough PC can actually experience the complete version of Madden 22 instead of the watered down version that you won't even show off anywhere because you know its just a basic watered down stale version of the game that has been released yearly for the past 5-10 years.
Again, I'm not saying anything that isn't completely true. You said it yourself "...right now are focused on making the best, quality experience on new consoles before we look to upgrade other platforms." This tells me that no one at EA cares if ALL of their players get the best, quality experience, just the players that have thousands to spend on consoles that still aren't widely available and when they are available scalpers get them as soon as they are. It would cost EA nothing to copy or port the next gen version to PC, since you make the game on PCs to begin with. Its as simple as EA wanting to force people to purchase next gen consoles to experience the full game. - 4 years ago
Well, I think its kinda a shame to not give next gen to PC players, especially when pc can handle next gen quite easily.... I just removed my pre-order for it, it feels like you don't want to have this game on pc anymore since we don't get the new features this way.... I hope it will change someday, some consideration would be nice ^^'.....
Do you have at least any updates at all from EA ?

@joekerrz
I understand and if you feel the next-gen features is where you see the value in the game that decision is respectfully yours.
The team is currently focused on making sure the game is ready for the next-gen console launch and we do not have any updates to share around the future for those features for PC at this time. When we hear about any updates we'll share them with you all in this thread. - 4 years ago@EA_Blueberry
I see the value of this game in its wholeness ^^, no point to pre order 80€ a half game :/, i'm just gonna wait sometime to get this game for a much lower price that is all... Feelz amazing anyway to see that this game is developped on PC, so we know this next gen features are working on PC ^^'... Good luck, your job is ungrateful :/. - Cseeman224 years agoNew Novice

It’s not about feelings. It’s about how EA is to a community. They corner the market by making deals with the NFL so they are the only one with rights to make an NFL game. Then they take it a step farther and neglect an entire community, EA is hot dog water. They do nothing good for their customers and only look at how they can turn profits.

Honestly, it feels as though EA brings drama one way or another every year. I'm so frustrated by this decision to screw over Madden fans on PC. Why not make the same game for next Gen consoles and PC??
OPTION #1 - EA could make a current gen version and a next Gen version for PC users and leave it up to the user to decide whether their PC can handle the specs.
OPTION #2 - EA could add the choice to play with current or next Gen version in the options menu of the game.
- 4 years ago@EA_Blueberry Any thoughts from EA about this false advertising on the description of the game for PC version ? It is kinda of outrageous but feels like what EA does best ^^'...

@EA_Blueberry
So basically the game is made on PCs, and can run on PCs, but nope, can't just port it over. Its just too hard to create a new folder labeled "Madden 22 Next Gen - PC version," then select all from the Xbox Series X folder, click the copy button, click the paste button in the "Madden 22 Next Gen - PC version" folder, and then release that version of the game to PC players as well. Then have both versions available to PC players in case they don't work on the customer's current PC. Problem solved easily and everyone is happy.
I've been playing Madden for 16+ years. I have played on PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox One X (not to be confused with series X), and PC more recently. Out of all of those different versions, the PC version sounds and looks the best. This same thing happened during the last new console too, except EA just dropped the PC version because they didn't want to deal with the hassle of doing this and maintaining the servers (easy for a billion dollar company to do)
I will compliment EA on something that shocked me. EA Play Pro members do get the Dynasty edition of Madden 22 for free as long as they subscribe, so that is one good thing. Just a tip for others seeing this, the annual price saves you a lot of money, plus its the price of Madden 22 Dynasty edition anyway and you get 10% off of other purchases too (including MUT stuff I think confirm for me Blueberry), and other EA games to play as well. Now if we can just convince EA to upgrade the PC players version to the next gen version instead of the last gen so we can have all of the awesome new features that they added to the gameplay and presentation. - jimmarshall4 years agoSeasoned Ace@JMEllis2020 I think, honestly, the only way they will upgrade PC is if they get called out like they did last year or people stop buying it on all systems.
- JMEllis20204 years agoSeasoned Adventurer
@jimmarshallAnd that most likely won't happen because the PC community is a lot smaller already because the people who could have started something like that have already just switched over to Series X or PS5.

I've been in this fight as well, because I would prefer to not use console.
I played the game yesterday via early access trial on ps5, on image quality mode, and hopefully it eases your minds to know that this game is trash.
It has MUCH worse graphics than any madden since 16-17. The audio is better.
Longshot looked a thousand times better. Face of the franchise in particular has horrible graphics. And looks to have much less effort than Longshot did. I mean...it is ps3 level cinematics where the mouth doesn't even come close to matching the words.
I'm not sure what the hell they're doing, but I do know that my PC would be able to brute force some of these garbage issues.
- WatDaFawke4 years agoSeasoned NoviceCongratulations PC players, Madden 22 PC gameplay is almost identical to Madden 21 PC gameplay. Only differences I've noticed is ball carriers looking to reach for yards more often and automatically when being tackled, and the pocket-to-scrambling transition being faster for all QB's. So basically EA has just enabled a variation of "Reach For It" and "Escape Artist" abilities to offensive players.
My expectations were low, but my lord has EA just copy pasted almost everything from last year, starting from the menu... Hopefully FIFA 22 and Battlefield 2042 can justify my EA Play Pro subscription, because this is pathetic!!! What in the world is the reason behind not giving us the new player motion system? Or even new animations??? - jimmarshall4 years agoSeasoned Ace
not me. I'm not paying that much for a system to play their games.
- 4 years ago@JMEllis2020 I wouldn't be so sure. More people game on PC than on Playstation and Xbox combined. PC gaming makes up over 50% of the entire market. This is a fact that often gets ignored.
- DJ_Englishman4 years agoSeasoned Ace
Perhaps EA's revenue trends help explain their disdain towards us lowly pc gamers again this year? I really hope that BF2042 is a success, and maybe for next season's Madden23 we'll get next-gen dynamic gameday and x-play too! 🥳
- 4 years ago@WatDaFawke i will not give ea another penny because this they are a bunch of goofballs, i would imagine that your pc is better or jsut as good as a "next gen" console, My pc will destroy a xbox series x without even trying but noooooooo we get the poop end of madden
- 4 years ago
At this point it’s pretty obvious there will not be any patches or updates. I just played the “current old generation” version and it is the same game from last year with just a roster update. Why would
anyone pay full price for this??? Even when I upped the graphics to ULTRA, which any graphics card made in the last 3 years can easily handle, it still looks like Madden 17. That was when I stopped playing the series after 20+ years. It’s graphically very disappointing and EA has alienated a portion of its potential customers. I pray that there is competition in the future and we have choices of different football franchises. I’m done with any game you guys ever make. Do better. Serve your customers. It’s not hard.
As much as I'm addicted to football, EA messed up terribly for me to not have bought this game already. I would buy a terrible football sim but current gen Madden is below that. I too wont buy until we get the next gen version. Also the game is extremely glitchy and EA desktop ruins my CPU.
Just here to point out this is the type of stuff that makes EA the "Worst company of all time". Like seriously, do you hire people JUST to try and actively make your customers hate you more?? I mean first there was Battlefront 2. You got literally busted for promoting online gambling to children yet still blatantly do it with MUT game modes. They are 100% play to win and have 100% ruined Madden. I am one of the ones here with a 3090 and and xbox series x that my kids play. I am not buying the game for the console so I guess I'll wait til its on gamepass. :/ EA, get your stuff together. You all just embarrass yourselves anymore.
The worst part is, Blueberry probably doesn't have the connections to anything other than an unmonitored box for him to relay customer complaints to. :P Or that might as well be the case from the looks of the forum history. - 3 years ago
@EA_BlueberryIt is beyond frustrating to see EA consistently short change the PC community. Without a next gen confirmation being added to Madden 23s release, myself, along with my friend group who have invested time and money into previous Madden releases will no longer purchase Madden games on PC or any other platform for that matter. I will not go out of my way to invest money into a separate platform when the money I've put into my PC components are expensive enough. We will instead be looking forward to the release of the 2k Football game slated to be revealed later this year. Madden along with EA has officially lost the business of my friend group which number in the dozens, along with the countless others who will no longer participate in the Madden community because of this. Enough is enough.
