xbox live not connecting and achievements not showing up

I have recently purchased madden 15 for the xbox 360. My connection to every other game and ea game i have is perfect but when i put in madden 15 it disconnects completely and whenn i exit the game i reconnect like no problem. I checked to see the achievements for the game and the achievements will not show up even after 10 minutes of waiting. This is my second copy of the game as i returned the first one because the same problem happened then and i thought it may have been a physical problem with the disc.
