So I have had the same issue as everyone else here. Franchise mode.. lasts about 5-6 minutes before crashing on Xbox series x. After trying many many many many things I have found it only happens in the menus, ( editing roster, trades, signing free agents, scouting). I was able to still play the games without crashing( 9 minutes quarters). So if you can get through the initial part of getting your team together ( when it crashes it always saved my last move) and keep loading back up after it crashes then playing the season games shouldn’t crash as it hasn’t for me. What I am unsure about is the draft as I have not got that far and if it will crash during that. Hopefully this issue gets fixed soon but judging by the fact that the EA rep thought the issue was something plugged into the USB…. I’m not holding my breath.

There have been cases in the past like with FIFA where if the Guitar Hero Dongle was attached to the console it caused players to get stuck on the loading screen. In UFC 4 a custom Gamertag profile picture that isn't part of the Microsoft default versions was causing performance issues.
What we're trying to do is locate a common denominator while the team is investigating this. We're passing along the info players are providing here to help aide them. In the meantime, what I'm trying to do is find a viable solution to help get you in the game in the meantime because this is not impacting every Xbox Series X or PlayStation user that has the game. There is something happening either on the account side or console side leading to this behavior which we're attempting to locate.
Do any of you still have the Madden Technical Test installed on your console?

It is unplayable. Franchise constantly crashes within a few minutes while navigating the menus.

Hey there.
I am working Sundays for the moment and the latest update I see the team has this as a priority to get it addressed it as quickly as possible. They've made positive progress on this and we hope you won't have to wait this out much longer. I know it's painful to be sitting on the sidelines here and it's difficult to be told to be patient, it's hard to see you all experiencing these crashes as from a player myself I know it can be extremely frustrating. Especially for some of us with limited time to play in our life. The team understands this is a major concern for those reporting this and working tirelessly to tackle all the unexpected issues players have raised at launch.

Hi thanks for the update, You have mentioned multiple times you are aware of the issue and working on a fix, so my question is what is causing the issue if you have solved it just working on a fix. Is it something we can change on our end to get it working in the mean time? it is weird that it only affects certain people but is also a problem on your end.

I contacted EA help about this very topic. His answer was a blatant no. The game can be refunded by xbox/microsoft very easily but if you wish for compensation in game for loyal players i was told no.

You misunderstand my comment by the sound of it. Not the refund of the console, xbox/microsft will refund the game if you got it through the microsoft store. I was offered one when i was talking to xbox help after ea help offloaded me to them when they said the game crashing issue was on my end and not thier game during ea access....... lol good one ea.
- 4 years ago@bigdaddykizzle Odds of a refund or compensation from EA are absolutely zero ... unfortunately they just DON'T CARE.
If you really need the money and have a bit of time to spare you can dispute the charge with your credit card company (depending on their policy). - 4 years ago@elaurant01 No misunderstanding, Microsoft told me 3 times absolutely no refunds on digital games. They’re aware the game isn’t working and Microsoft didn’t care. I had to file a dispute through my credit card…

I did not realize how many gamers this affects, but across so many forums this is happening to people. Franchise mode is unplayable at this point, because I cannot get past the 15-20 minute mark before it crashes. Please EA hurry on the solution. Anyone have any workarounds that have helped?

OK i played/try to play Offline Franchise.
Fav Team 49ers + Franchise 49ers= Crash
Fav Team Chargers+ Franchise Charger= No Crash
Fav Team Colts+ Franchise Colts = Crash
Fav Team Browns + Franchise Browns= No Crash
Weird....

I play offline franchise with favorite team the 49ers. Crashes constantly. My buddy does online with the Raiders and his crashes as well, albeit with seemingly fewer instances.
On my franchise I control multiple teams and have had it crash with the Lions, Broncos, Raiders, and Bengals. All of these were added teams off of the original 49ers franchise, however, with a mixture of using the owner role and the coach role.Interestingly, I deleted and re-downloaded the game yesterday and noticed the rosters were different. As far as I’m aware, we haven’t had a roster update yet but I noticed D. Perryman, MLB, was now on the Raiders and C. Smith, ROLB, was no longer on the Vikings.
Re-downloading and reinstalling did not help - it still crashes.

So apparently EA are soon to release, a new mode, called Campus. I would settle with a patch, so I can play the damn game.

3 WEEKS OMFG NOT ONLY is is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE the game launched with these crashes but no fix for OVER A MONTH!!!!!! This is beyond unlawful bs and we should be compensated MORE than the people who were incorrectly banned!!!!! AT THE BARE MINIMUM!

Hey EA I do seriously appreciate the update the other day, very nice to hear it is being worked on. I do feel like it is appropriate at this point to request a more frequent update though or a daily one due to the length of time of the issue(s) and the amounts of money we as a community have to this point essentially wasted. Thanks in advance.

It's like the company is spitting in our face launching a new game mode, but leaving this one broken. Even the normal passive IGN posted a scathing rebuke.
@EA_Blueberry do you think you can help keep everyone a bit less pessimistic and angry by offering an update more frequently?
