So I went one step further today ... I completely reset my Xbox Series X to factory settings, reinstalled Madden after that, and then dove into Franchise ... I had three crashes before I gave up again (this is beyond frustrating @EA_Blueberry)
#1 - When quitting the Offline Franchise to return to the main menu the game crashed to the Xbox Main Menu
#2 - Stepped away to use the bathroom with the game in the Offline Franchise Home Screen returned to find the game had crashed to the Xbox Main Menu
#3 - Finally attempted to play my week on game, in the 4th quarter in the middle of a play the screen flashed green for a split second and then turned off my Xbox Series X entirely
There has to be more than half-hearted excuses and attempts to play this off as a console issue or a user issue ... Madden is broken
I spent $120 (like so many others here), took time off work during the release window, and lost out on all of that ... I still have NEVER FINISHED A GAME and CAN NOT ADVANCE MY FRANCHISE.
It's been four weeks since release and we have a broken game and no hope, minimal communication, and lost time and money.

Absolutely not the console but I do want my money back at this point. Can’t play a single game. Crashes my whole Xbox.
- 5 years ago@pimplc I don't know why, but I tried again this morning and it completely shut down my Xbox AND it took awhile to get it to reboot ... I am genuinely worried now that Madden might be doing HARM to my Xbox @EA_Blueberry & EA_Barry

I agree with everyone's complaints and disgust. This game (Maddenn 22) is definitely broke. I'm very disappointed in EA releasing such an awful game. I've been a Madden fan/player for over 25 years (even back in the Sega Gensis days).....ALL other games I play on my Xbox Series X work fine and even much better. I'm to the point now where I just insert Madden 21 and move forward. It's quite obvious that EA has no clue how to fix the current version of Madden....such a shame for all of us that have spent money and have been dedicated fans for years! Like most of you, my system crashes completely when trying to play any form of Madden 22 online or offline Franchise modes......

STRANGELY ENOUGH I Uninstalled and reinstalled for what would seem like the 5th or 6th time yesterday while doing so I also uninstalled warzone apex forza horizon and nba 2k21. Not saying any of its related but I Essentially wanted to see if maybe having less space on my hard drive was the culprit. First play through didn't crash for over an hour. Was able to finish numerous solo challenges and open packs and whatever else. Left my game up for a bit to make dinner came back to the dashboard screen...okay. loaded back up and crashed within 20 minutes 2 more times and gave up again.
Again. Microsoft WILL NOT allow me a refund despite how many people are very aware of the crashing. EA HAS NO ******* CLUE what's causing this and seems content that we can't play a game we purchased. Again. Never again EA. We deserve compensation or at the very least more updates as to what's going on. Why is the series S able to run it but my better series x model can't without crashing? Why is it only this game?
- 5 years ago@xBMTHxMOVEx Yep. I play about 5 mins of a franchise game and my Xbox series x shuts completely off. I HATE EA for not fixing this. They are a terrible business. Horrible.
- 5 years ago@jackcasper49 @EA_Blueberry... Same here. After working for a day. It completely crashed the Xbox in the middle of a franchise game. Not sure if this matters but I had been manually quitting the game after each exit. Didn't do that last night. Opened this morning, played a game, then the next game crashed and shut down the Xbox. There was like a green flash before it crashed.

EDIT: Disregard. Just had a crash for the first time in a week with everything unplugged from usb. Oh well.
I was having similar issues with crashing. I would get a crash probably once every 4 or 5 games. I actually got to the point where i could figure out which stadiums/teams were a guaranteed crash.
Anyways, as weird as it may sound i decided to unplug my usb charging cable from the xsx just to experiment and ever since then i have had zero crashing issues. I have done a ton of testing with it too, for over a week. Nothing.
I know it sounds ridiculous and doesn't make sense and there is obviously a bigger reason for the crash but i encourage anyone with anything plugged into the usb port to completely remove it. It certainly cant makes things worse!

Thank you for sharing what helped you out, @worldindus
From my years at EA I've seen some strange devices cause issues when plugged into the console. When I plugged by phone's charging cable into my console when I was playing it caused slow menu navigation in NHL 21 and War Zone.
@worldindus
Was this an Xbox controller charging cable? This could be important info for the team to be aware of.
I want to let you all know the previous message I provided regarding Xbox Support troubleshooting is not intended to push the blame to Microsoft or blame others for the crashes. The team is actively still investigating these reports. We want to ensure cases like what @worldindus mentioned are ruled out though. Some crashes can be avoided like in this individual's case. - 5 years ago@EA_Blueberry While that's great it worked for ONE person you already suggested it and dozens tried it before to no avail. Also, I'm STILL CRASHING with NO USB plugged in.

@EA_Blueberry I bought the game after the update, still crashes. I have nothing plugged into my series X, still crashes. It’s nearly a month since release and this still happening and may be harming our consoles. At this point I just want a refund, I don’t feel like waiting until the November or December title update to play this game. Just give us our money back so we can spend it on products that work.
I feel sorry for all the game studios who have to carry the ball and chain of being owned by EA, because debacles like this madden launch make it harder for them. I know I have already cancelled two pre orders of games published by EA since going through this experience and I am not sure I will ever buy a game published by EA again.

@EA_BlueberryYes, the officially licensed xbox series x USB charging cable. Note that i would get crashes with or without the controller plugged into it , though. I rarely play with the controller plugged in.
Disregard last post about unplugging usb cable. I iust had a crash for the first time in a week with everything unplugged. Oh well.

Looking to get an update from the team as soon as possible with their findings. Please continue to hang in there and if you have any concerns regarding the game's impact on your console, I don't fault you for your decision to hold off on playing. At the moment, we're not aware of any known reports of damage to consoles caused by this title.
We will keep you posted on this. If any of you come across any valuable details that you feel could help the team please continue to share along with the info we previously requested. - 5 years ago
Plugged my Xbox straight into the outlet , worked for about 5-6 games. Just played today first game Xbox turned off in the 2nd Q of the game. I have a USB for my controller plugged in, I will try and use batteries and see if that fixes it. Also seems like it’s been happening randomly to all my friends too , no set amount of games. Xbox isn’t running hot , not using power saving mode and automatic turn off is turned off. Only game I’ve had this issue, NG madden 21 worked fine same with NG NBA , apex, warzone , NHL 22 beta.
- 5 years ago@dmanN760 The first thing I tried when I started experiencing the crashing was plugging directly into an outlet, it made zero difference to me. Still the same amount of crashing. That's when I came here.

"Yo guys its cool I don't blame you for not wanting to play this game and possibly messing up your console"
[Removed - CM] if you played this game ever again we already have your money and you're past the window for refunds. See you next year
But I'm happy to announce that I've played nba2k22 all weekend on my same "faulty" "overheating" series x and have had no crashes. I even plugged in 3 USB cords and it still played flawlessly!
But anyways tell me how its still my series X causing problems. 😴

@EA_Blueberry, thanks for removing my post. Sorry for mistating inappropriate phrases. My intention was to only state the lack of concern that EA is applying to this month long problem. It's a shame that EA has let all of these issues go on for so long.
- 5 years ago@EA_Blueberry So what’s the end game here? I’m on series x number 3 within a month I have receipts and emails. Make rights have to be out of this world because honestly after a month of this and it costing me my spot in the MCs because of crahsing during the first tournament is beyond unacceptable to not have some sort of an answer from Ea my guy
- 5 years ago
@cdonnolo21 Bruh, there will be no make rights lol, they consider making their game playable a make right. I just can’t understand how this was an issue when 21 NG launched and they still can’t get it almost a year later. How does a game get launched in this state!? Its basically an Alpha version of a game for full price, EA and the game team should be ashamed.

@EA_Blueberry a few things that i should note that may actually be helpful to you.
1. This happened to me during the Beta as well. There were certain stadiums that I simply could not play in because it was a guaranteed crash. Titans, Seahawks, and Packers. With the full game now released, I am still getting the crashes, however, all things being equal, happens "less". I basically couldn't play more than 2 full games at a time in the beta before it crashed.
2. The crashes always happen at the very end of the 2nd quarter(less than1:30 left) or begin ing of the 3rd quarter (if i am offense). They always happen when I have the ball and they always happen pre-snap, after picking a play. Typically when "zooming out" on the camera to survey the defense. I only play 'play now' vs CPU so it is happening in play now for sure.
Hopefully this information is useful to you and the team.
- 5 years ago@worldindus I came to the conclusion @EA_Blueberry does not care if they did they would’ve taken me up on my offer to send them the 5 videos I have from the MCs tournament where my game crashed. I mean that’s plenty of insight on where to start looking
- 5 years ago@worldindus That's great info ...
I had my crashes that happened in game at different points in time, but from what I recall they DID occur after I picked a play and while I was walking the offense to the line of scrimmage ...
The vast majority of my crashes though occur in the menus of offline franchise ...
@EA_Blueberry any updates to share? - Neo_Novalis5 years agoHero+
@jackcasper49 That observation sounds really interesting! Most often if I face a crash (on PC), it is at the exact same situation as described! After selecting a play... most often it is the first play. But I'd guess there are other issues for me as well... @EA_Blueberry

I'm so tired of this BS! I've lost many solo battles and H2H because of this crap.
Their suggestions on how to fix this problem has zero fix.
My xbox series x is on a shelf, plugged into a outlet, I've dumbed the graphics down, etc, etc.
Still crashes the box.
I knew I should of never bought this game. Spent money on a game that's broken. Don't even get me started on the actual game itself.
Fix your game EA! Already tried to get a refund from Microsoft but since I pre-ordered the game it was past the 14 days. Never again will I spend my hard earned money on Madden.
@tlyons332000 Don’t run it or leave it plugged into an outlet. These guys wont even offer refunds for this, they certainly won’t compensate you for a bricked Xbox. This is getting disgraceful, if I were involved with this debacle I would be ashamed.
