Re: How do I stopnWR Corner and Four Verticals. 1 play 1 TD?
I've found in PvP that on 3rd & short or 4th & short situations, most people have plays dialed up to stop the run. These tend to be man coverage, w/ a stacked box. Because you're generally rushing 7+, with 4 or less in man coverage, the TE runs a free route up the middle. To combat this, I would suggest either
A. Run a zone coverage that has deep coverage
B. Run a man coverage that has >4 defensive players in coverage
I personally try to make sure that all of my man coverages have >4 defenders in man to man to avoid getting burned. They will match up to the TEs in the formation if the offense is in a 2 TE set, or match up to the WRs, TE, HB, or even the FB depending on the formation. So in most formations for a running play, you'll get a DB/LB assigned to the HB as a safety net. They might get the first down, but they won't likely break it off for a TD. Also, if you don't have great DBs, then zone coverages will probably work better.
Below are some of the plays that meet those criteria: (Zone Man)
- 3 Deep Under
- Flat Buzz
- Jam Cover 1
- Sam Blitz
- Cover 2 Man
- DBL TE Bracket
- OLB Fire Man
- Will Sam 3
- Over Storm Brave (Not entirely sure about this one bc the DB is on the opposite side of the formation, not sure how that would work in-game... If he has to sprint out across the formation to catch the TE, it might not work, but the game might have him flip sides? Not sure)
