Mine magically started working around New Years after not working all season.
From what I can tell, it started by purchasing an item in the store that I'd already purchased and wasn't really available even though it showed in the store. My hunch is the core bug is caused by a cached image of the store items and when you purchased an item that isn't really available anymore it gets stuck trying to complete that purchase.
No idea if mine started working because they permanently removed the item I tried to purchase from the store, but based on the comments here it sounds like the actual problem still exists.
