What type of Android device do you have and does it have the latest software update? If you haven't deleted the app and re-installed it, please try that. If you synced up your game to Google/Facebook/Apple you can safely delete the app and reinstall it without losing progress.
This is related to a device not meeting specifications, the graphics slider in the settings turned down, software compatibility, or corrupted files from an install.
